  1. Nice! I don't think I'll have time to fire up the smoker for about 2 months. wish I could sooner tho
  2. So I bought a bushnell, a cuddeback and a browning. I'd have to check the models if you wanted to know them but so far the bushnell has awesome daytime pictures. I'm watching antlers grow!
  3. Pulled a mem card yesterday and saw some new antler growth from about two days ago. Just getting started. I am excited to watch them grow and to see fawns playing in our backyard.
  4. I once had a bear with two cubs climb down out of a tree and start galloping right towards me and a friend. She didn't know we were there until she got to about 20 yards away and we started making noise and yelling. She stopped, stood up and I thought o boy this is it. She got back down on all fours, turned and went quickly in the opposite direction. Good thing we alerted her before she passed us with her cubs on the other side of us. This was about 15 years ago while geocaching at the Wesley Hill nature preserve near Cummings nature center.
  5. Troegs perpetual ipa is awesome
  6. Give or take a hundred, You wanted as many cams possible... pretty good picture quality, but weren't looking for any awards... Video capability... what would your buy? I am basically very busy and want you all to shop around for me. Show the sites or stores you are finding the deals at. I'm new to this hunting thing and want to see antlers growing and fawns playing during the next few months. Just for the enjoyment of watching them grow. Thanks all!
  7. I like the fork at the end of the right antler and the texture near the brow tines is cool. My buck only barely had one brow tine.
  8. Atlanta, like close to cohocton?
  9. 22" inside spread. Not sure of any other measurements. Maybe I should learn how to do that.
  10. I thought you were gonna say "had a crossbow for opening day of bow season" oops. my bad
  11. I like the natural way. Thats why I mounted mine looking straight forward just as he was focusing on a doe that was standing right under me. I would have like him looking to the side but I wanted to have it just as it was.
  12. I can't remember exactly but it was somewhere in pa on my way to mifflinsburg
  13. Anybody else wanna post a picture of their first feel free to do so. I was recently at a place with about a dozen buck mounts from different places and varying vintages. Neat to see all the differences.
  14. Well this came back and is actually bigger than I remember. This is the only buck I have ever seen while hunting. Not surprising I guess since this last season was my first. I love the hole towards the end of the right antler. Another neat thing was a scar on his cheek the taxidermist said went most of the way through his skin. It all adds character. I put it on a piece of old oak that I pulled out of my brothers house during a remodel. We are guessing the board is at least 100 years old but probably much older.
  15. Was driving down into PA a couple weeks ago and saw a dead black bear on the side of 15
  16. Yeah that's what you said to do. I should have followed directions but that crock of pork fat looked a little too good to resist trying.
  17. They were good when I pulled them out and were warm and crunchy. Once the pork fat got to room temp they were kinda soggy. So if you ever do what I did eat them all without waiting to share any!
