Had the same cam.....was heading home one day and got a pick of an absolute stud entering my woodlot from the cut corn.....called my wife and said change of plans this stud was close and I needed to setup. He ended up skirting me that afternoon and was chasing ladies all over the cut corn. Neighbor ending up shooting him a day or two later and he expired on our property while my dad was out hunting. He called me before the deer died and said "I have an absolute monster bedded right out of bow range and am shaking so bad i am not sure I can shoot him if he walks past". 5) Stay in shape so you don't sweat your "a..." off walking to your spot. Usually as deer season rolls around I am in the best shape/condition of the year. Spend most of my fall refereeing college soccer and still have no problem running with division 1 athletes in their prime. No fawns or buttons opening day.....like shooting my gun so I can't say 1.5 gets a pass. Have a 13" spiker at one property with good body size that I wouldn't mind shooting....and a funky 3pt. at another property that won't get a pass either. Mature doe is fair game right from the get go......just don't wanna a pull a goose and drop a doe that had a buck in tow! When my 3 yr. Surefire fury intellibeam Long story short I needed to track my gun deer last year at night and really didn't own anything to great.....I remembered from the summer my neighbor showing me a sweet flashlight he bought that was super bright so I have him a call. He dug it out an off we went......that small flashlight lit up the grape vineyard like it was Xmas and made the track real nice. So fast forward to this spring and I am beginning to shop around for a similar light and the next thing I know my neighbor is dropping off this surefire as a gift for plowing his driveway all winter.
