  1. Nikon 440....have had it for well over 12 years and have put two batteries in it. This thing has taken a beating.....fallen off my hip and recovered weeks later when the snow melted and it was working fine. Also has fallen from the treestand a few times and is still ticking. 2. Well done.....real nice buck ....love the character around the bases. So what area Upstate?? Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  3. Like most have side of keep the barrel out the window. Funny story I got caught looking uphill outta one during late muzzleloader season and sure as heck deer start to appear on the logging Rd below the blind.....no time to move into position to shoot barrel out the window( not sure I realized it was still inside) and I let the smoke pole bark......well after the entire inside of the blind cleared from smoke....and I regained my senses....since the ringings in my ears was unreal..I then had to try and locate the deer. All ended well.....the deer only went 70 yards but I had a hell of a headache the rest of the day! Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  4. Gotcha....they are in there.....have seen two shooters in the last few days while I was entering or leaving the hardwoods. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  5. I gotta get a hang on up and really start finding a consistent travel route....may start near a snowmobile trial that enters the edge of the grapes. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  6. You may end up not leaving the toilet for the next 5 days.....those Concord grapes can do I number on ya! Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  7. So does anyone else have any experience hunting a Grape vineyard. This is our third year and the past two we have basically skipped the vineyard and focused on the small patch of hard woods that deer transition from the crop fields to bedding? Just wondering how you setup? Find a tree on the outer edge and shoot into the grapes? Ambush a travel route with the help of a ground blind? Right now the bucks and does are in there on a regular basis ...and this is potentially our best shot at a shooter buck tending his doe. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  8. It's like one of those pics you stare at for a while and the image pops out at ya.....if I squint I can see a pic of a farely wide racked buck Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  9. That's a true monarch of the woods....can't wait to hear the story ......congrats WNY! Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  10. Moog....What type of xbow did ya get? Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  11. In for the last hr .......deer are on their feet. 2 doe in the grapes....and a bunch of rows later a nice wide 8 poking around.....as I get back to my stand there are 3 doe in the cut corn. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  12. My dad is out now and I am outta work in a bit to join him.....no xbow's for us......we are starting the #compoundfromthesky movement this afternoon. 17. Raining in wny....glad it hasn't made it your way yet. You only need a few seconds to turn this season into a success....you deserve a crack at one today! Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk

  19. Agree....it sure was fun. On my way home I called my buddy I hunt with and ended the conversation with....days like this are what makes hunting awesome. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  20. Not CNY....but deff in WnY. Blew it on a buck tonight who had a doe locked down in the grape vineyard on the property I hunt. He refused to leave her and even postured up at me, took a few steps toward me and stomped a few times. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  21. Tried to get home around the same time as my wife and kids to be able to eat dinner with them. Leaving the stand a few minutes early allowed me that opportunity. I referee college soccer from Early August until just last week and family meals are a rarity this time of year. Hunting is deff fun...but being able to sit down as a family is way better. 22. Blew it #ontheground tonight. Walked out of the woods around 4:45 and while walking back to my truck I first hear what I thought was a doe blow and run off thru the grapes but I didn't see anything.....well I walk a few more rows and end up seeing that doe high tailing it down the grape row. No biggie ok only 10 minutes left of shooting time some I continue along. Low and behold as I am just about to my truck I look down the grape row from this little dip in the road that I am standing in and staring at me is a buck(#3 on our property).....now he not only stays put but postures up and starts walking towards me and stomping his hoof. I have my bow but no arrow knocked since the backup release I was using tonight was not opening properly while I was in my treestand earlier so when I got down I put it away. After it sunk in this deer wasn't moving I quickly decide he was around 25ish yards away and I am gonna shoot with my fingers. He now turns broadside I settle right above his heart and let it fly........no dice....arrow falls short and in the weeds under the grape Vines in front of him. He barley moves and starts walking to the next row...I quickly regroup and peak down the next row....he is there and another narrow racked 6 or 8 pops up....the original buck moves to the next row and there she is.....the hot doe he either had locked down or was trying to lock down. He wasn't going anywhere until she blew and bolted to taking him and the smaller buck with her. On a side note this is a cam pic of that deer I encountered tonight.....he was very swollen and looked to have a chest like an NFL linebacker when he was facing me. Overall great final 10 minutes....just makes the next few weeks that more fun. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  23. Looks like to me you need to move in with them. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  24. Made it out for last hr. In 9h......looking to punch a tag before the weather takes a crap for the week.....28+ mph winds tomorrow just flat out stinks. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  25. I thought most of these doe/buck kept velvet anthers all season? Looks like yours was normal polished antler. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
