Quick observation from yesterday......I was convinced from monitoring a few cams chasing has been real light so far. So yesterday the one property I hunt was real close to where my boys and I get our haircuts so afterward we took a quick scouting drive to see what may be out and about around 4:50pm. In a 5 minute drive down the utility road next to the vineyard we spotted 1 mature doe, 2 fawns, a possible basket 6 and another mature doe. All browsing and the mature doe and fawns were real close. My question is......is it any indication my area hasn't popped yet with the doe still allowing her young to be near by? And the small basket 6 not harassing the ladies? I am going to drink for ya Don......I would be passed out at the counter top if I needed to wait on the monster. Similar story....a guy I hunt with stuck a monster(142")around 6pm a few weekends back......knew he hit it back so he left for the night.....didn't wanna ruin my hunt in the morning at another property so he didn't tell me what was going on....get a text later Sunday morning with him and probably the #2 deer on that property dead as a door nail. By the time I talked with him Sunday night he hadn't eaten in 48 hours and was drunk as heck from celebrating! You got this Don.....and Sunday will be a day of celebrating! Had it happen years ago when the opener was Oct. 15th or around that date. Shot a buck that Sunday morning and hunted does for the remainder of the season. Right around the beginning of Nov. on an afternoon sit in some red brush had an absolute slammer walk by at 27 yards without a care in the world.......I actually drew in his direction to see if I could pull it off from this tri pod i was sitting in and he didn't budge.....was just checking the wind before he entered a mowed path. It was definitely a rush.....but made me think real hard about any early bucks that presented a shot.

its freaking 72 in my area on the border of 9g and 9h......just doesn't seem right for an afternoon sit. The whole weekend will be warm....hopefully they move early.

Headed out to move a stand shortly.......been getting decent movement about 75 yards from this stabd just inside the woodline. Original stand placement was to catch them headed from the woods to the grapes....but recent intel shows all the bucks cruz just inside the woodline. Looking to make the move this afternoon and sit tomorrow afternoon.
