I've Had Enough! I'm Becoming a Republican!

Mr. T is a Conservative fool. LOL! -
I don't see anything other than freedom of choice here, without government oppression, where free men decide what they need, unless someone uses it to violate another person's rights. As long as you don't think you have the right to tell them they can't have it, we can leave it at that.

How much ammo do you or should you keep on hand
Rattler replied to Engraver99's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I hope you all realize the anti-gun politicians, the overwhelming amount of which are Democrats, are also wondering how much ammo we have and looking for ways to restrict how much ammo you can possess. Don't think this won't come to pass someday, as long as we're stupid enough to keep putting these jerks in a position to do it to us. Voting for ANY Democrat is voting for gun oppression. -
Split-Ear, I forget to ask if you understand the concept of "cover fire"? I see these types of things from a defensive point of view. Other's assume it's for offense. It's a tool. The hands that use it determine it's morality.

Such as? Read a few writings on apocalyptic scenarios. They will give you some idea what to expect. The government has been worried for years now about a terrorist attack on the national electric grid. Imagine no electric nationwide for months because of all the work and material required to rebuild it. Supermarkets run out of food, credit cards don't work, gas pumps don't work, tap water stops flowing, no lights, internet, cell phones, A/C or heat at home. Looting begins, gangs form, violence rules and people don't survive. This could happen tomorrow without warning, just as 9/11 did. Better to be prepared if it never happens, than to be completely unprepared if it does. -

2 Trillion economic stimulus plan
Rattler replied to Water Rat's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
If there's no electric, supermarkets can't keep much food. Panic buying cleans out the store and restock may never happen. Various things like truck hijacking and corrupt drivers diverting food, can all cause problems. But that only lasts a short while. After that, nothing happens anymore. Believing ammo may never been in short supply and high demand IS betting your life on it. Never is a very long time son. BTW, ever study trade in the Middle East among rebels? -

Here's the issue with the CARES stimulus as far as government spending goes. As the dust settles following Congress's hurried passage of the emergency relief package known as the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, spending details of the 880-page, $2.2 trillion behemoth are now becoming known, and it's not a pretty sight. While billions of dollars go for needed virus relief, roughly $600 billion goes into government coffers. It's the biggest one-day expansion of government power ever, with the vast majority going to increase the welfare state. It's clear that Big Government proponents, especially the Democrats led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, followed Rahm Emanuel's advice and didn't let this crisis go to waste. What may be an even greater danger than government expansion is the precedent this crisis action has produced. Now, even more Americans will look first to the government to bail them out of a crisis, costing billions and saddling them with all the more Liberty-limiting regulations as the bureaucratic state grows exponentially. As The Wall Street Journal astutely notes, "Republicans waved much of this through, viewing it as the Democratic price for urgently needed business liquidity. But they should understand the left has every intention of making these spending levels the new normal. Long after this virus has passed, long after the economy is recovering, Democrats will cry foul at any cut. Should they win the presidency or the Senate this fall, the chances of rolling any of this back fall even further." The bill's most glaring and dangerous aspect is that it fails to distinguish between that which is expected to be a temporary expansion of government from that which is permanent — exactly as the Democrats wanted it. The Journal observes, "Democrats successfully exploited the crisis to expand the power of government overall — perhaps for the long term. That's especially perverse, given it was government that imposed the restrictions that shut down the economy, necessitating this rescue bill in the first place." Will Americans one day come to regret the Orwellian-named CARES Act and see it as the cure that was worse than the disease? The Patriot Post -

I can understand that and respect it. However, the debt is a long running issue and really has to be looked at with regard to each spending or borrowing bill. Politicians today love to throw lots of pork into each bill in order to vote for the part of the bill that's needed. That's what just happened with this stimulus bill. That's what we should all be against. Any politician who does that should be called out for it. Unless we put a stop to deficit spending and debt, this country will see a crises that will make this virus crises seem like the good old days. -

Seriously? Lies and fake news? Sometimes I come on this forum and I'm just spit balling. Not everything is gonna be gold. I admit it. You consider that lying? I fail to see the significance of bringing that up in a totally unrelated thread. It simply makes me believe something I posted in this thread makes you uncomfortable, but you don't have any competent way of refuting what I posted, so you grasp at anything that will make you seem morally superior. If it makes you feel better about yourself, more power to ya. But it doesn't discredit anything above. If anything, it discredits you. You see, I never expect to change the mind of any antagonist in any debate. I debate to give information to the people on the sidelines looking for info so they can form their own opinion. I do my best to present a strong case, and allow you to do yours. The number of undecided who convert to your side is what wins the debate for you. Now, is there anything you would like to say about the National Debt? Are you for lowering it or do you support adding more to it? I'll give you another crack at it. -

So I assumed the Gov was a he and IIRC was a 90 day hold, when in fact it was a "She" and was 14 days. Details were wrong but the situation was correct. The situation is far from fake. I never stated they were facts. I stated I read it. What's your point? In other words, you're clueless on this forum topic and think pointing out something from another insignificant post destroys the credibility of this one? Straw man diversionary tactics are the favorite tactic of leftists. Think you can effectively debate what's posted in this forum? Give it a try. -

Why would you get tested if you don't have any symptoms? I though a doctor had to recommend getting tested. With so few tests out there and an overwhelmed system, testing should not be casual. -

It's no coincidence that the states closest to bankruptcy have the most oppressive gun laws and the worst regard for their firearm owning citizens. They want to be able to do whatever they like without fear of revolution. -

The clueless laugh, but offer no analytical, factual rebuttal to counter the debate. As if laughing proves anything in the debate. Well, it does prove some folks have no idea what a threat to this land the national debt and out of control government spending really are. Sadly, they will be the most unprepared if it happens. Laugh while you can. -

Today it takes $25,832.94 Federal Reserve Notes to purchase what $1,000 U.S. Gold-backed Dollars purchased in 1913. That means that a Federal Reserve Note has the purchase power of about 3 Cents each whereas a 1913 U.S. Dollar had the purchase power of 100 Cents. Just last year, the U.S. Treasury announced that within five years every single dollar the government borrows will have to go to pay just the interest on the National Debt. T Scott Brown In the Constitutional Convention and the Debates that ensued on its structure, proving that the Framers of the Constitution never intended that the power to Emit Bills of Credit was ever to be authorized or enumerated to the federal government, I think this should be very clear. If you read the Debates on August 17, 1787, the Constitutional Convention the Framers discussed a draft article defining the powers of Congress under the projected new Constitution. A portion of the draft read, "Congress shall have power… to coin money, emit bills of credit, regulate the value thereof…" Governor Morris, delegate from Pennsylvania, an associate of Robert Morris, rose to propose an amendment. The amendment, as James Madison recorded in his Notes on the Constitutional Convention, the record of the proceedings, was to strike the words "emit bills of credit" and those words were indeed removed from the Constitution. 1787 language, the term "bills of credit" was the words used for Paper Fiat Currency. As George Washington, in a letter to Thomas Jefferson on August 1, 1786:"Paper money has had the effect in your state that it will ever have, to ruin commerce, oppress the honest, and open the door to every species of fraud and injustice." Thomas Jefferson said: "Paper is poverty, it is only the ghost of money and not money itself." James Madison wrote: "Paper money is unjust ... It is unconstitutional, for it affects the rights of property as much as taking away equal value in land." In 1817, Jefferson predicted paper money will bring: "... abuses also are inevitable and, by breaking up the measure of value, make a lottery of all private property." Jefferson insisted in 1784: "If we determine that a Dollar shall be our Unit ... we must then say with precision what a Dollar is." That definition was given in the 1792, Coinage Act declared a dollar worth 371.25 grains of pure silver or 24.75 grains of pure gold. A real Dollar is still 371.25 grains of pure silver or 24.75 grains of pure gold, the definition of a Dollar has never been legally altered in the United States Code, it has only been usurped by willful ignorance and by intent criminal actions that have robbed the wealth from the people of this country and transferred it to the politically connected. -

You are not paying attention. Unless something is done to curtail govt spending, it's inevitable, and every elected hack knows it. No different than a household living way beyond it's means. It's unsustianable when expenses exceed income. This current crises is costing the US trillions in additional expense and the tax revenue is way down. That is something to being seriously concerned about. Prove me wrong. -

If the overwhelming National Debt causes a total economic collapse, the US dollar becomes worthless. When it happened in Germany in the 30's, people used their paper money in their fireplaces for heat. The barter system will be the only thing that operates. Commodities in demand will have ammo at the top of the list. Not only will it be worth it's weight in gold as a commodity in a barter system, in many cases one bullet will acquire the owner whatever they need, when judiciously applied to the right part of a "sellers" anatomy. Things get really ugly when survival is the only thing that matters. You wouldn't think it was funny if you understood living during a total economic collapse, with no law, no government employees getting paid and refusing to work, no goods or services available because nobody profits from providing them, no electricity, no water coming out of your tap at home, total anarchy and no rules for survival. If the US national debt causes such an economic collapse in this land, Martial Law will be installed, all rights suspended and the government will not be nearly as restrained as it currently is under the Constitution. Imagine the worst case scenario and you won't be close to seeing the reality. Having the means to survive will be extremely valuable, and people would trade most anything to acquire it. If you've never envisioned what it would be like, you are grossly ill prepared to survive if it should come to pass. Some may think it's funny analytical people do consider it a possibility and know how close the US is to it's reality, but that's because many do not understand how easily and quickly it can occur. You can be assured the US government knows and is preparing for it's inevitabilty, knowing they cannot contain government spending and soon won't even be able to pay the interest on the national debt. A big part of the government's strategy, is to keep people in denial, so they do not see it coming and do not demand action before it happens. How many people do you know who are even aware what the national debt is? That should give people some idea as to why the government, especially the leftists in it, are so desperate to disarm the populace with any and all gun control schemes it can legalize. People are not ignorant when they don't know the truth. They're ignorant when they don't want to know the truth. The truth is, there is nothing funny about it.
