There are posting requirement: Something about land must be posted annually, and dated on the signs.

Years ago. Unimproved land, not posted, not fenced. You have rights to enter. I'm not a real estate lawyer... but I remember that from my NY hunter safety course. I can't cite law. I didn't enter. I drove away. But my point is.. people are just not the way you would think they are. He'll get Lyme disease, and think of me …..

You actually can hunt unposted land. I learned that in my hunter safety course Unless the laws changed since then..

Pine Bush, Exit 119, Rt 302. about 5 miles North of Rt 17. Probably 3M DMP, everyone has a 3M tag. There is a corner house with a big grass pasture. At least 4-5 acres of grass. Opening day, 12 deer are in this guys pasture, feeding, 3pm. looked like all does, yarded up. So I pull onto the side street, and start watching the deer. My truck was completely in the street, public road. But in front of 2 houses on the side street off Rt 302. The home owner noticed I was watching the deer. My rifle is cased up, 100% legit. I'm just watching the deer. I was going to ring his bell. Before I could even ring his bell... he comes out screaming & yelling at me. Like a nut job. I couldn't even talk to him nicely.. His property while posted, is not 100% posted legally... with the year & date. One posted sign for 5 acres. I could have legally trespassed, and got away with it due to improper posting. But it just wasn't worth it. I drove away with no deer.. What happened to the nice people upstate NY? What happened to Middletown ?? Seems to have had a population explosion... from the 1980's. Oh well...

I saw 12 does yarded up in 3M. They are ready for winter. I can't imagine there being any rut if does are herded up on opening day. and I have seen doe yarded up on opening day. Usually last week of rifle.. I rang the guys bell, and asked him if I can take a doe. He told me to F- off. Nasty nasty man, waving his arms. Pine Bush, off exit 119. Corner house, with a big grass pasture. The pasture was at least 4 acres, and loaded with doe.

I have a 1 antlered buck running around. Think he lost it in a battle ? The other bucks on camera are much bigger, and beefier.

If I were a realtor.... I would know the DMP zone I'm selling.... But that's just me... -

You really need to know the DMP zone if you're selling a hunting lease...…. I have land in 3K Monticello, that I don't go to, because there are no doe tags. -

3M ? -
Bears are cool. I got 1 over bait in Canada. The other I got at 190 yards. I noticed him standing on a tree stump, and I looked again, and sure enough it was a bear. I got him just as he was sniffing me out, and walking off. Just gotta be in the right place at the right time.

I saw 2 banging heads Thursday night. Definitely a pre or actual rut.

Browning BAR .308 Accuracy issues
the blur replied to ApexerER's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I have 2 BAR's. .243 shoots perfectly at 200 yards. Very nice groups. In fact, I go 400 yards on steel, no problem. 7mm-8, sucks. Had it worked on by a quality gun smith. Bedded, crowned, everything. He can't get it to group. I heard it's the gas system if the groups are too big. I haven't worked on the gas system yet... -

I have heard....... big garbage can filled with water, and give them a bath. Kinda hard in freezing weather.

Relocating them is illegal. You must euthanize them as per DEC. I have heard stories, if you relocate them, you need to go at least 20 miles, or they come back. But then you create a problem for someone else.

I live trapped a nuisance Raccoon. This thing was as nasty as a pit bull. Growling & Barking at me. Showing it's teeth. Snapping... aggressive. I can see why it was a little pissed off, but I wouldn't mess with a Raccoon. This thing would have shredded me to pieces if I was within reach. They aren't so cute & cuddly as the facebook posts suggest.

.243 is deadlier than anyone cares to admit.

I did the hog "hunt" there. ok...ok..... it's a hog shoot, not a hunt. Just because I felt like killing something with my new gun. You walk 400 acres... and eventually come across hogs, axis deer, fallow deer, red deer, rams, etc. You get within 50 yards, and shoot. They don't even scatter, they look around... People come from all over to shoot "trophy" deer. Anything with antlers is big money, and many people do it. It's one step above going to the food store, and 1 step below hunting over bait. I'm ok with it... as a cheap thrill, pricey thrill rather.

I had a deer stomp it's foot at me. Only happened once, but it was assume to see. 30 yards.
