First year using and plan on giving a report at years end . I’ve said before I’ll be the first to admit when I’m wrong cause I’ve fallen to many gadget items .

I never thought about the weight thing as a reason to use one unlike the guys on tv constantly driving the weight differences. I’d say it’s more of a pick any tree to hunt out of is the main reasons. Also the higher profile of a climber strapped to your back can make it difficult to maneuver through some thicker stuff. I just never liked a climber long before I knew about saddles. Before that I would carry sticks and stand and do sets that way.

What does everyone have . I had a Tethrd mantis but the hip pinch was brutal. Sold it on archery talk. I got a Cruzr and it’s incredible.

Ok the tittle may not sound right but I feel like I need to express what kind of people are behind some of these keyboards . Over the years we have had our get togethers and our heated debates over different subjects. The past couple years me and a couple of the local guys have shot archery together at the academy and 3D courses. We have hunted together and have drank many beers together. My mother passed away on Sunday and my week has been a mess to say the least. My internet friends reached out to me right away. Sending their condolences and food and gift cards. It was greatly appreciated from me and my family. It didn’t stop there. The wake was last night and the last hour of a long night in cams walking in @Lawdwaz @TreeGuy @turkeyfeathers @Jeremy K @The_Real_TCIIIand @Arcade Hunter Oh and I cannot for get Larry’s wonderful wife Cathy. It was just what I needed these guys walked in and lifted the room right up with stories and laughter.These guys have never met my parents ever and didn’t even phase them to take time away from their families to come out. @Biz-R-OWorld couldn’t make the trip but the guys represented him very well. Our group text with the guys gets me through these tough days with great stories and constantly joking. This forum may have screwed me out of a T-shirt but it gave me some great friends. Thank you all...

I’m not opposed to killing doe’s especially on our lease cause it is completely over run by them. During the rut I would pass only for the reason of hoping she was in heat and would draw a buck in .

This morning started out hectic with a long walk to the spot I wanted to hunt and was the first time hunting out of my saddle. I got situated about 12 feet up in a very skinny maple tree probably 6” in diameter . I had great wind as long as nothing came from behind me . Wouldn’t ya know I noticed some deer crossing train tracks behind me and worked their way to my side. Doe came about into a clover plot that didn’t take for us this year but she was still eating the premature plant. She walked right towards me and I knew I would get to attempts to draw on her if she doesn’t bust me only being 12 feet in air. She presented herself with a 10 yard shot slightly quarter to. I released the arrow and she jumped for a second then walked about 20 yards. Then she just stood there and didn’t move. I thought to myself did I miss that shot. She walked off slowly but I couldn’t see any blood coming out of her . After a bit I got down and had to find my arrow. Covered in blood and that was my first relief. After waiting another hour I started to look for blood trail. Tracks and Jeremy K came back to meet me and start tracking . She walked about 60 yards and found her . My arrow hit a little high and a little back . Regret putting my 20 yard pin on her but got lucky I guess. Not a giant doe but my first deer hunting out of a saddle so that was cool.

I think that’s like paying a prostitute for sex. It’s a sure thing but if I apply myself and put some work in it I can probably achieve the same results without paying money .

I can honestly say I did not purchase a cell cam to get a text of a buck and drive 2 hrs to my lease to kill it. I got it so I don’t ever have to funk up the woods by checking cards . And i would love a drone to fly over the swamps to see where the ducks are hiding . But then again I don’t like to shoot hens and others don’t care. Bottom line I guess my ethics are screwed up but I mean well.

While we’re at it let’s talk about planting food plots to keep deer on your dirt longer. Or put together deer drives to push deer to stationary hunters. point is I use every advantage I can as long as it’s legal.
