  1. Some guy is now blasting off a shotgun. I heard one maybe 100 yards from me. Loud as heck. Perfect day is going down hill fast.
  2. Perfect day. Perfect wind. Damn rabbit dogs barking up a storm not too far away probably scaring all the deer away. And those dogs won't leave!
  3. Flush 4 out of a this one field but only walked away with one. Apparently me wing shooting needs some work. Would have helped if I had a modified choke instead of full. The entire backhalf of the bird was completely gone but I saved the breast meat.
  4. More importantly, are you comfortable showing people where you live?
  5. 1. zoom into the location you want to take a picture of. 2. hold down the 'alt' key and they press the 'print screen' key (its the 3rd bottom from the very top right corner of your keyboard) - nothing is going to happen. what just happen is done in the background. 3. open a paint program liks mspaint. 4. right click the paint program and select 'paste'. - this will copy the entire window onto the paint program. 5. trim off the sides that you don't need using the paint program. 6. save the picture and select to 'Save as...' a JPEG. 7. upload the saved JPEG file.
  6. I thought about that because I always think I am stronger than what I really am but I also have an irrational fear some dim wit will shoot at a floating deer.
  7. I plan to: 1 - fill out tag (keep fine point sharpie in bag). 2 - gut deer, hang to tree. 3 - hike back to car and drop off gear. 4 - hike back to deer and drag out with drag rope. 5 - if deer small enough, stuff into trunk of toyota camry. 6 - if deer too big, quarter and stuff into trunk of camry. hope that works because I have no other options.
  8. Deer was disqualified because it failed to wear it's racing bib number.
  9. I was strictly referring to the renewal fees. If it was a one time fee, I would have no problem at all. It's great to have a pistol but I have been able to do everything I need to do so far with rifles so the pistol is more of a luxury rather than a necessity which is why I'm having a hard time justifying paying that amount every few years. If my financial situation changes, then I definitely would get it.
  10. Looking to trade 3M for 3N. Thanks.
  11. 13BVET deserves first crack at it but if he doesn't need to 3N, I would love to take it off your hands, Biz if you are kind enough to extend the same offer to me. Thanks.
  12. Are you saying that only the wealthy should be allow to hunt? How about those who hunt to feed their families?
  13. For outdoor ranges, if you're closer to the Bronx, Blue Mountain is your best bet. If you're closer to Brooklyn, Calverton out in Long Island is your best bet.
  14. awesome! never knew they exist in the area.
  15. In other states, when a cop pulls over on the highway, all traffic slows down a bit and goes over to the left lane. Something I never see in NY state. We just tend to zip right on by without any caution at all.
  16. Ouch. Sogaard - It's left thigh also got caught and that's probably holding up the bulk of the weight.
  17. Massachusset never struck me as a gun friendly state. Aren't they one of the more restrictive? I know Romney definitely softened up to gain the NRAs indorsement.
  18. Simply curious. I follow the law to the best of my ability. I'm planning on purchasing a muzzleloader and I'll send in the registration forms anyway. It'll only cost me 5 seconds to fill it out and $0.45 for the stamp. If the take the registration, they take the registration. If they toss out the form, makes no difference to me. Better safe and $0.45 poorer than sorry.
  19. I agree with the extensive background checks. I even agree with having to register each one of your firearms. I do not agree with all these ridicilous limitations they place. Yes, if the gun is legally or illegally owned, who cares if it has a 5 round capacity or not? I also don't agree with the outrageous cost. Makes it class bias. Those in the upperclass won't think twice about the money but the regular working class are hesitant to spend the cash. This is why I have not applied for a pistol license. Can't justify spending another $300+ on top of the $200 I already spend every few years to renew my license.
  20. Lever-action with a tubular feed. Yes. I always wanted a Henry lever-action and can't get for the same reason.
  21. MZs don't need to be registered? Where is this stated.
  22. My Ruger 10/22 is originally a 10 round mag but all I had to do was show them I ordered a 5 round mag online.
  23. #1. gun crimes is at an all time low. #2. it does give me some bit of piece of mine knwoing that making it harder on me to get a firearm also means it's harder for the criminals and the mentally ill to have a firearm. Is it impossible? Obviously not. #3. do I think these restrictions are ridiculous? yes. absolutely. I agree with making it harder for criminals and the mentally ill but I think many of the restrictions do nothing to prevent that but rather do nothing more but to deter honest citizens from purchasing firearms.
