    Tree stand broke

Mine's were the Field and Stream also. I made a mistake and thought it was Ameristep when I made that posting.
  2. When did you go? I'm wondering what are the conditions post Sandy.
  3. Recoil of a 150 grain 30-06 from a 8 lbs rifle = 18.66 ft-lbs. Recoil of a 150 grain 30-06 from a 11 lbs rifle = 13.57 ft-lbs. Recoil of a 150 grain 7mm Rem Mag from a 8 lbs rifle = 21.68 ft-lbs Recoil of a 150 grain 7mm Rem Mag from a 11 lbs rifle = 15.77 ft-lbs

    Tree stand broke

Oh...I thought he was referring to the tree stand I had. I thought he was calling it "titan".

It's only 21 lbs. The weight isn't so much of an issue. It's just so big on your back which makes it cumbersome while trying to maneuver through brush.

    3M - Where?

    3M - Where?

The only public land I know of that is in 3M is Stewart State Forest which is overly crowded and a war zone during the first few days of gun season. Not 100% positive but looking at the WMU map, West Point looks like it falls under 3P.
  10. This should help. It's from the 2009/2010 season but I don't think any has changed since then and DEC hasn't released a newer version. http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/wildlife_pdf/wmutownmap09.pdf
  11. I have this on my Ruger 10/22. I have no complaints about it. It has served me well. http://www.opticsplanet.com/simmons-22-mag-3-9x32mm-rifle-scope-with-rings.html
  12. Another hidden aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Now all the gas stations have ran out of gas. One gas station that still had gas was so crowded, cops had to stand guard because fights were breaking out. I guess this is a little taste of the SHTF scenerios.
  13. And there goes the looting... http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/brooklyn/looters-target-coney-island-sandy-article-1.1195080

    Spare Arrows

Last year (my first year) I carried a full quiver. (2 rage, 2 magnus stingers, 2 blunt tips) Seeing how the only ones I've shot were against squirrels (and missed I might add) I find most of them unncessary. Now I only carry 2 arrows. 1 rage and 1 Montec G5 in case I lose on in the middle of the hunt or the deer miraculously gives me a second shot.
  15. Dag! That looks vicious. I wish you a full and speedy recovery!
  16. Right now it is eerily calm here in the city.
  17. New is now reporting brunt of the storm is currently in Atlantic City and will hit NYC at 5AM.
  18. Isn't steel mandatory for waterfowl?
  19. How to you get the arrows out? I shot one of my broadheads into a hay target and it got lodge in the hay so bad, I had to take a knife to the the hay around my arrow to get it out. Now that block of hay has a big hole in it. Lucky for me, there was no one else there at the range. I used a Montec G5 broadhead.
  20. I have the Nikon Prostaff and the Redfield Revolution. You can't go wrong with either of those. My only complaint with the Redfield is that it didn't come with a lens cover and I had the hard time find lens covers for it.
  21. Nice trick grow. Now the mother doe is going to associate the fawn with your smell and she'll come to you the next time you're out there.
  22. Criminals here in the city are a lot more civilized than their upstate counterparts. They'll wait for you to grab your pistol and reload out of the spirit of sportsmanship so long as you say "please".
