It's also ironic that some of the people who are down playing the seriousness of this virus and wants everyone to return to work blames China for not letting the world know earlier about how serious this virus is. I'm pretty sure China made the same mistake in the beginning. The lack of test kits played a major part. It's not like they had a stock pile of COVID-19 test kits sitting around because they knew this was going to happen. They didn't hit the panic button as they figured they could contain in. They were probably like Trump during February. The difference is China was dealing with an unknown. By the end of January when China finally admitted they couldn't contain the virus and warned the WHO, every other country saw what was going on in Wuhan and took immediate action. It was too late for Italy and they got hit hard but these other countries (South Korea, Singapore, etc) are dealing with the virus very well. Trump immediately banned travel entry from China (though it is now know that the virus entered US via Europe) so his lock down response I feel is adequate. Pelosi, Biden, and de Blasio are even dumber. To say Trump is smarter than the dems doesn't say much. But the lack of preparation is inexcusable. We had historical data. You can't use complete lack of knowledge of the virus at that point. We saw what was happening to all these other countries and how they started dealing with it. US was one of the last countries to get infected. The moment the "one case" popped up, masks and ventilators should have been popping out within a week. China messed up by trying to deal with it and sweep it under the rug. But US administration messed up by ignoring all the warning signs.

Considering that 133F degree heat kills the virus. Did someone mess up and under cooked it? Conspiracy theories aside. If it was a natural transfer from a bat, most likely if it would probably be from the result of either 1. someone getting bitten or 2. bat droppings and someone not washing their hands.

Save only a tiny bit. I get a free metro card from company but I would take the metro north several times a week so I saved there. Wife saved one commute too. I also use to grab breakfast every morning. My lunches were always free. Wife ate out for lunch but usually would just make a shake at home for breakfast. Dinner, so many times we would be burned out at the end of the day that we would just order out pretty much 4 of the 5 days. Even Saturday and Sunday mornings we'll go to the diner because we were just so tired. That was the biggest savings there. All this savings though doesn't off-set my lost in income. Just slows the bleed.

Still no disinfectant. Got everything else. I was good for a couple of weeks though. I also switch to using dishwashing detergent to "wash" water sealed containers instead of using disinfectants so I should be able to last even longer now.

I'm sure that's Biden's first choice but someone needs to remind him that Tupac is dead.

Thanks for the offer but XL isn't going to fit me and I'm not in dire need. I've been using an extra pair of latex gloves. It's for when I do the disinfecting wipe downs so my hands don't get anymore dry so I'm not worried of reusing them. Appreciate the offer. That's what makes this group so great.

I might have to visit some of these bodegas if it starts to get bad. Been avoiding the bodega neighborhoods because they respect social distancing as much as proper fitting belts. I got a nice giant refill at Stew Leonard once right when a shipment came in. They only allow one per customer. I came back the next day and never seen it again.

No go with Amazon. Even stuff that says it's available, after I add the item to cart and then check out, it'll say item is no longer available during the final processing. Several items available on Amazon Fresh but when I tried to check out there it said item not available for my address. What's up with that?

Also fortunate that wife works for hospital (gloves and surgical mask) and brother works for homeland security (N95). Was able to get us a few of them when supplies was starting to go down but not completely out.

I spray disinfectant on a paper towel and wipe things down. 24 hours is excessive. I read somewhere 10 minutes is sufficient. I wait 10-15 minutes then rinse them off with water. Paper boxed items like pasta, I spray with the aerosol can.

Amazon has become unreliable. I had ordered toilet paper from them and they gave me a date of 2 weeks later. On that date, I got a notification that it got delayed. Then a few days later, I got the notification it got cancelled. Fortunately I have a decent supply of that and was able to also find a small shop that has them. The amazon distributor in NYC had a staff walk-out/protest a little while ago. I'll give amazon a shot. Thanks.

There's operating as if every medical professional should just assume they have it. It's just how bad it gets before they treat them. She should proceed as if she is positive.

CDC approved Disinfectants (Clorox or Lysol, both aerosol and spray). I'm running low on them and would like a pair of dish washing gloves but that's just a luxury. I run through disinfectants a lot since I spray down my stuff whenever I go out which is a lot because I make runs for my parents and my SIL who has to stay home and watch kids. BIL is an essential workers and usually by the time he gets back, shops are closed. They've been calling me "Glen" (from The Walking Dead). I figure I got another 10 days to 2 weeks worth of disinfectants. Willing to go get them myself. Just need to to know where. I've been to 5 different shops near by and Westchester and they're always sold out in every one of them.
