The invitation you sent me must have gotten lost in the mail. It’s ok. There’s always next time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Felt real nice walking into work this morning

I avoided a skunk crossing the road Sunday night. I thought the same thing. Winter is over.

I've noticed a few robins over the last week. I'm also starting to hear a lot more birds chirping in the morning as well.

We re-scored him with a tape the night I picked him up. If I remember right it came out to 130 2/8. I have it written down at home. Completely unofficial. Just a couple of dum-dum's running a tape.

Well after a few short months of waiting my "holy crap" buck came back from the taxidermist. Jamie Wareham, TreeGuy's Taxi did an outstanding job and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm so glad I went with him. Here are some pictures. And of course a Victory Lap beer! Sorry for the sideways pictures. Can't seem to rotate them from the computer.

I just looked and it's topped with a Simmons Blazer 3x9 scope. From what I know that's an extremely entry level scope. Under $100.

Interesting thought on the pattern opening up. From what I remember shooting it 2 years ago i'd be luck to keep the group on a paper plate. Left, right, up down just all over. My uncle shot it as well just a couple of time with the same result. I'll have to get it out there again and shoot it a bunch.

No, I shoot at my land. We have a 100 and 200 yard berm with fixed target mounts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mine was the combo deal as well with the accu-trigger which I love. I don’t even remember what scope is on it. I’ll have to look when I get back home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m shooting from a seated position at a table with a sled. Last time I shot it everything seemed to be in order besides changing up ammo. Already tried 2 different types. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Last box was Hornady Whitetail 150 grain. The box before that was I think Remington core-lok maybe 165 grain. I haven’t even shot it in 2 years because I was so disappointed in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A discussion in the 6.5 build thread got me thinking about barrel break in. I have a savage 30-.06 that I was never happy with. It just seemed to be all over the place at 100 yards. Never even went to 200 yards with it. It was mentioned with varying procedures to break the barrel in before even trying to zero in. Which got me thinking that I probably don’t even have 40 rounds through the barrel. Could that be the issue? I’ve shot 2 different types of ammo and had the same inaccurate results.
