  1. Automatics? I assume you mean semi autos. The guys that bring them to the club pay the same dues as everyone else. Sure, some are not very considerate, but Id say the vast majority are. Plenty of guys out there with braked 300 Win Mags and 7mm Mags that pop off at the range, giving you a good scare at the other end of the shooting house.
  2. So then what about a Remington 700? They are the same as the M24, M40 and a few others. BTW, there is no civilian version of the M4. Its a Class II weapon, so unless you go through the lisencing and other hoops to own automatics and SBRs, you arent gonna get one. Bullpups are not a particular rifle, its a style of stock and/or action combo. You really should do just a little looking into things before you start flinging poo on the wall.
  3. The military does not use AR15 rifles, havent since Armalite sold the rights to Colt and Colt redesigned it as the M16. The AR15 is a civilian, semi auto version of the M16. Better check your facts, which brings me back to what I was saying about the twisting of things to support your argument.
  4. Jerry, I did mine for the first time this year too. If you are doing 20 gallons of sap, you want to boil it down outside until you reduce it to about a gallon, then pour it into a smaller pot, like a pot you would use to make spaghetti in. Boil it in your kitchen and keep an eye on it. Once it is getting close to done, you will notice a froth starting on top, like a freshly poured beer. It will be almost done at this point, and can quickly turn to dark cooking syrup and then maple sugar after that. Get a spoon and dip it in the syrup every couple of mins. It will get to the point where it starts to stick on the spoon. Just check it very frequently until it gets to the consistency you like. Remember, its hot, so it will be a bit more runny than when it cools down. Depending on the type of maple trees you are using, 20 gallons should make between a quart and a half to two quarts of syrup.
  5. I ended up with 8 full gallons yesterday. All of my buckets were overflowing. Hoping for the same today. Im already way above what I was for the last boil down and I cant do it until saturday.
  6. I have no problem with you having an opinion, as I have said countless times in the past. I have a problem with the way you present them. I have a problem with those that distort facts and just plain out lie to try and prove their point. Nobody has said you really need more than one shot, but if you are insinuating that no one ever needs a follow up shot, it's because you have this high horse mentality because you supposedly have never taken a follow up shot, right? You have the biggest superiority complex on the site. That's why people get rubbed the wrong way.
  7. Actually, I disagree with MANDATORY antler restrictions because its another restriction, just like your views on AR style rifles. I have always, and will most likely always practice VOLUNTARY antler restrictions because I do know the advantages to them, I just choose to not force my opinion on others. The only extremes I go to are tongue in cheek. You on the other hand, should be the last person talking about others going to extremes in their arguments Mr Crossbows will be the end of the archery season. Im not the one coming off like a nut job (nice name calling after you pissed and moaned about it through the whole thread btw) because I dont agree with more restrictions and Im pointing out the advantages to them. Im not the one saying anyone has to hunt like me or anything like that. Also, whats the point behind your pics?
  8. Grow, I got lucky with mine, we have 2 ATV trails where I have to slow wayyyyy down and squeeze between trees. I have some rub marks on my roll bars lol.
  9. Swords are for cheaters. I crouch in my tree stand waiting for one to walk under me, then I jump on top of it with my Rambo knife wearing my red bandana to hold back my mullet.
  10. Thanks everyone! Larry, I was home, you should have stopped in. I was rolling on 5 hours of sleep between Thursday when I woke up and Saturday night when I got home from the NWTF banquet. Took me all of yesterday to catch up on sleep lol. Aww flowers? For little old me? hahahaha
  11. My trees ran pretty good this weekend. Didnt have a chance to boil. Looks like this week should produce pretty good too, then Im pulling the taps and boiling the last batch.
  12. No hunter "needs" a semi automatic rifle to hunt with is the same type of logic and argument the antis use to try and ban them from private ownership. You guys dont "need" a compound bow to kill a deer either. Make those illegal, they have too many advantages and look too ramboish for my liking.
  13. Why do you guys keep comparing an AR to a bolt gun? When people (including myself) are saying that they are more accurate, they mean more accurate than almost every other factory built SEMIAUTOMATIC rifle on the market.
  14. Mag size marketed to hunters is based upon game laws. You can get larger mags for other styles of autoloaders as well. Maybe you should get your facts straight before you profess to educate anyone.
  15. The real BS is in your comments. Just a bunch of ignorant drivel.
  16. 99% are large enough for the tractor and at least a 7 foot brush hog, which is what we use to keep them up. The wider trails we use a 15 foot brush hog. There are a few that are only ATV width but not many.
  17. What does any of that have to do with you misinterpreting what someone said?
  18. Heres my project http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/21518-out-with-the-old-in-with-the-newr-700-vtr-308/
  19. Its completely different, but I guess you just feel the need to play pariah again.
  20. Because I wanted a bolt gun. I did not sell any AR to fund the build, I sold another 700 in 223.
