Made my decision, 2014 Yamaha Viking
WNYBuckHunter replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
I would have to worry about the soft snow, my machine is over 1600lbs with the plow and gas in it. -
It does. I use some old washcloths that get soaked in strong smelling body wash, then rolled up and hung with a string on my young fruit trees in the front yard where I dont want to fence them. It works perfectly.

WNYBuckHunter's Outdoor Journal

I got out this past weekend and made a quick run around both farms to clean up falldowns on the trails. We also got the first plot tilled up, and started formulating our plans for each plot this year. We are going to venture into a couple of new things for us. Corn and Sugar Beets. That will be in addition to other plots with our usual plantings of PTTs/Rape/clover/WR, etc. We are also going to do one plot with buckwheat for a soil builder. 3 new plots going in this year. As soon as we get the existing ones tilled, the new ones will be going in. One of them needs alot of brush pushed out. That will be the last one on the list. Other two need sprayed and tilled a couple of times. I was hoping to get some spraying done this weekend, but its looking like rain so far, so that will probably be out of the question. Pic of some fresh tillage... I took the day off on Tuesday for my son's nursery school "graduation", and decided it was a perfect day to go fishing with him. We headed down to the farm to try or luck in one of the ponds. He ended up catching about 20 fish, all largemouth and sunfish. I didnt have time to do much myself, but managed to nail a few largemouth of my own when he wanted to take breaks. It was his first time out fishing, and hes hooked now. Hasnt stopped telling me we need to buy a boat lol. Heres a few pics of him having a blast...- 510 replies

Ahhh, didnt realize it was a tow behind, thought it was something that was a receiver mount from your post. Tow behinds are nice. -

Nice. I have a 15 Gal that I just sit in the bed of my Viking with the tailgate down. One strap keeps it in place perfectly. -
Well, since you brought my name up, I guess Ill chime in... #1 The concert is not "to raise awareness for gun safety and mental health", its to support an organization that actively advocates and works toward the addition of gun control laws and gun/magazine bans. Do a little looking into what they do rather than just read what the "about us" on their website says. #3, who said anything about no training? Most teachers are liberals, etc? Broad brush much?(No teacher I know of is underpaid. I know a bunch of them.) #6 At close range, shooting at huddled up people, a sawed off is just as, if not more effective than an AR. Theres a reason why police and military use them for close quarters situations. #7 those are your words, I dont see anyone saying that. Point it out if Im wrong. What has been said is that a gun law only effects those that follow it, so it will not prevent an illegal sale.

They have a 6 seat version out now. Mine gets to be an issue sometimes in tight trails, due to the turning radius, so Im not sure the longer wheelbase would do well for me in some spots, but it might work for you. Its not much more than the 3 seater like mine. -
Deer that go "nocturnal" are still there somewhere. They arent burrowing animals. Get out of your stand from time to time and still hunt if you arent seeing them moving. Since I started really learning how to still hunt, I take deer every single year that way. Its alot more fun than stand hunting too.

Are deer spooked by Trail Cams ?
WNYBuckHunter replied to fasteddie's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
I made the switch over to black flash cams and have used video pretty extensively. Still photos rarely tell the real tale. Sometimes the deer will stand there and eyeball the cam for a few seconds, then they turn and bolt. I have never had an issue with scent after they sit for a few days, and I tend to let them soak for a while before checking them. Once I get an idea of what deer are using the property, I back my cams out and set them on large scrapes and food plots where the human (farming) activity is normal, just to get some nice pics. I try to keep the pressure out of the areas where Ill be hunting. Ive tried using them to pattern deer in my hunting areas, and it always has casued the areas to be pressured and the deer stop using it. When I do set my cams in areas Ill be hunting, I put them up high, and install, check and remove them while Im standing or sitting on an ATV or tractor whenever possible. Seems to disturb the deer less than tromping around on foot. Just what works for me. -
They can head west, to my dinner plate...

Expert? No, but I know enough to be able to tell you what I did. Once the owner of the safe is dead, searching for the keys or combo is not that hard to do. Im not being silly at all. If someone kills me and finds my keys to my safe, steals my guns and blows 100 people away, then how did I go wrong or store my guns improperly? You just cant admit your point is flawed. BTW Lanza wasnt a kid.
-
You dont need to break into the safe when Mom is dead and you can grab the keys or combination and open it up. You need better info on what the illegal gun trade is, how it usually works and that the sellers dont care, and dont want to know what the guns are used for. They are illegal guns, they know what they will most likely be involved in. Its pretty easy to make an illegal gun purchase, and middle class white kids have no problem getting them. Not all the dealers are gang bangers from the ghetto. There are plenty of illegal guns to be had out in the country and suburbs my friend.

I dont turn that on when Im on the road other than a couple of times on empty roads just to see how it did when I first put it on. With traffic ahead of me? Heck no. Its new. I used to have a pair of Hella Halogen lights there, they just werent bright enough for me. -
Lanza killed his mother. Thats working pretty hard in my opinion. After she was dead, what difference would it have made if she had the guns in a locked safe? He would have gotten the guns out of there and carried out the same thing. The statement that the criminal woulndt sell to someone because they know what they might do is probably the funniest thing I have ever seen posted on this site. Gun laws only apply to those that follow them.

I beg to differ. Ive lived in rural towns, Ive lived in the city (not just Rottenchester), and Ive lived in the suburbs. Honestly, the least tolerant of people that looked different than they did, were people in the city. Walk down the wrong street in the wrong neighborhood wearing your typical middle aged white guy uniform and see what happens. Could be a predominately black neighborhood or a predominately hispanic neighborhood, even a predominately asian neighborhood. Id be willing to bet that a large number of the people there arent going to welcome you with open arms lol. Hell, I lived in a predominately black neighborhood in Florida, and it took close to a year before the odd looks and negative cracker comments went away. Well, the cracker comments kinda stuck because I started calling myself that in a joking manner. It actually got to the point where a bunch of my buddies that were black used to call me the "n word", but it took a long time for the intolerance to go away enough to where I was accepted as part of the neighborhood. I wont say that there arent intolerant people in rural areas or suburbs, because there are. Im just saying that painting with a broad brush is silly.
