I was being a smartass. I use one as well. You wont get bashed my me for it lol.

Why not for youth, or women that dont have the strength to draw a bow at the state minimum weight? How disabled would one need to be? What about guys with temporary injuries? You could go on and on with special designations if you want to. You can fear monger and theorize till youre blue in the face, but if you talk to guys that actually hunt with crossbows, youll quickly find out that the effective range is right in the same ball park as a compound. Heck, weve had some recent discussions about guys on here that shoot deer well past 40 yards with their compounds. I have yet to hear about the sky falling in states that allow crossbows. Do I think xbows will bring a ton of new hunters into the sport? No. Do I think it will bring some? Yes I do. Do I think there will be some people with unrealistic expectations and poor hunting techniques? Sure, but there are bad apples in the bow hunting world now. I say give those bad apples a weapon they may have a better chance at getting off a good, ethical kill shot with instead of hucking arrows and wounding deer.

gotcha now.

Congrats on the new bow! I too say forget groups after you are sighted in. Shoot spots! Only the first shot counts in hunting anyway. Well, most of the time. Now expect to get blasted for buying a Whisker Biscuit, because its not an accurate rest lol.

Its bulky, and contains too many moving parts for my liking. I do not like the way it mounts on the site either. The premium will have a mount that is made specifically for your riser, and it attaches there. No moving parts at all, its slick. Ill see if I cant get a couple of pics tonight when I get home.

So you guys are now saying that the guys that shoot crossbows competitively, dont score as high as the vertical bow shooters, because they just dont practice as much, or arent as good of shooters as the vertical guys to begin with?
-
good digging wooly! LMAO

Dont know, dont care honestly. P&Y is far from my idea of an authority on anything except their record books. I cant even stand their scoring system. Gross/net? WTF, just count inches of bone and give the animal credit for everything it grows. anywho...

Yeah, it would be nice. The thing with Livingston, is we can purchase coupons and keep them indefinitely before we use them. I have a couple in my pocket right now that I picked up last March. I can go to the gun show and leave with my handgun right then and there, dont need them to have a table. -

NFAA, USA Archery and many of the other US and international associations have divisions for them.

Look at it like this belo. The guys doing that sort of thing most likely wont be very successful, and you wont have to worry about them for long. Either they will adjust their tactics and become successful, or they will quit trying. After all, whether its crossbow, compound or recurve, first and foremost, you have to get a deer within the effective range to be successful. A compound and crossbow have a very similar effective range. BTW, I know lots of guys that smoke and bowhunt. Plenty of them are successful at it. Maybe its time you stopped letting fear shape your opinions, and take a look at what is going on in the states that do allow crossbows. I havent heard of the sky falling in any of them.

There are no substantial gun shows held in Livingston County AFAIK -
Oh come on Joe, none of that logical stuff that makes sense when it comes to crossbows. You should know better.

The monroe county pistol permit people are always at the rochester gun shows when they have it at the dome. Makes it easy for those monroe county residents. -
As the ad says, im looking to buy some large rifle primers. Would like to get them from someone local if possible to avoid shipping charges.

I agree completely.

Oh I know you werent talking about me specifically, just giving my opinion on the subject. I agree with you that my suggestion on a week between gun and muzzle loader being self serving. It is 100%. I believe that a 1 buck rule would tick off alot less people than mandatory ARs would, and i also believe it would make more hunters more choosy about what buck they shoot, while still allowing those that dont care, to shoot the buck of their choice. The way i see it is its all about managing the deer herd and protecting our hunting heritage. In order to achive both, you have to keep the hunters happy, so you put regulations in place that do a good job of both. Compromises on both sides have to be made.

Will the SAFE Act apply?

Just like theres no evidence of crimes committed with a 50BMG, but they put those on evil lists too. -
Good trail camera for the money?

DLC Covert Black 60. Will cost a bit over $100, but its well worth it. Look around at deals on the 2013s. Wingsupply usually has the left overs on sale around this time.
