  1. Don’t worry it will be hot again next week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Awesome! You should upload the video to YouTube and share! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. This is enraging as f*** Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Headed out this afternoon after the rain and cold front move through. Tomorrow and Saturday look the best weather wise for the next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. WOW. Didn’t notice that before! But yeah that’s not right obviously. Unfortunately it does look quite warm the next ~10 days. Hopefully the nights/mornings are cool Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hey now! I’m a weatherman and if I could control the weather I would! Hate this heat!!! Gonna be a warm few weeks to start Bow this season boys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I do because I hunt on state land and you never know what people are doing. Even if they are small game hunting I’d rather not get peppered when they shoot at a pheasant or squirrel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Sometimes white oak acorns fall out of their caps while still attached to the tree, resulting in what it looks like in your picture...a bunch of capless acorns Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks guys! Only the old gick and fox parcels allow hunting I found. Did some snooping and looks decent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Lots of rain headed this way so I’m sitting out today. Went to some state land in 5J last night for the first time (after not getting a permit this year for public land that I usually hunt) and didn’t see anything except some fresh rubs. Hung a cam hoping it doesn’t get stolen and catches a big one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Hey all, I have been bowhunting public land south of Albany in 4B/4H, but have been looking for land closer to where I live in Clifton Park. So, I found via DEC's mapper a few spots near Wilton, including the Saratoga Sand Plains WMA which also goes by Wilton Wildlife Preserve Park. Does anyone know if this spot is worth the effort? I know it is N.Tier. and the season started today. I am mainly looking for a good bow spot. Thanks!
  12. Relatively quiet here for an opening day in East 7J, except for the wind and one guy who unloaded his clip in under 5sec, hope he got em.
  13. Rain finallystopped. Made it quiet for sneaking in without those crunchy leaves, but the drops falling from the trees are loud!!! Nice and cool compared to the previous few days. Broken Tapatalk means no pics
  14. Thanks for the warm welcomes, and to Grampy for the tips!!! Can't wait till Oct 1!
  15. Hi everyone, I've been following the site since last year, when I moved to the Clifton Park area after hunting in CNY my whole life. I hunted at Thacher last fall, and I was wondering if there are any other public areas to bow/gun hunt deer, turkey, or even bear in the Capital District. Was thinking about checking out Black Creek, Cole Hill, and Louise E Keir this year, but wasn't sure if anyone knows how good or crowded those spots are. Never really ran into anyone at Thacher last year which was nice. Looking forward to contributing and following this site more this year!
  16. Got these two bucks that I didn't get a chance at this year, but did get them on my cams a few times, including this day, where they walked by within the same minute (yes those are two different bucks, one 6 pt, one 7/8 pt), and then had them sparring a few hours later. Just wondering what age they are, and what you guys think of their potential for next year??? Thanks! I think they are both about 2.5 years old, but the 6 (pictured first) might be a bit older and bigger.
  17. Kept mine up all season. Luckily no thiefs out there yet, even on public land. Could also be hidden too well! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. After reading it, doesn't seem too accidental to me. A scoped rifle at 100 yards when he "heard a deer"...4:40 (just getting dark)...hit in the chest? You'd have to see that's not a deer. Just an opinion though... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Deer seem to move more in the snow and cold in my experience, but the strong winds might make them hunker down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Beautiful morning but not much action. It's been quiet, barely heard any shots so far. Saw a barred owl swoop down into a tree at 10 yards which was cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
