  1. Do you really think the tree hungging libs care if hunters get shot, they probably have a celebration when it happens with Peta lol
  2. The point is politicians dont care enough about one or two Hunters every year getting shot to change the law . It barely makes the news. Its only when non hunters complains or get hurt that the state acts most the time . For example Shotgun zones and bow only zones happend not because of hunters getting shot its, because of non hunters complaing about them being dangerous or stray bullets hitting their houses .
  3. Im guessing they dont bother with a law because its mostly happeing on private, land and hunters shooting other hunters and sinse most hunters are not liberals . They dont care . They would only care if a hunter shot a treehunging liberal that was hiking then you would see how fast they passed that law .
  4. Old timers use to hunt with blue jeans and those red colored checherd clothes and before that just regular clothes no camo 100 or more years ago and had no problem killing off all the wildlife in a area . Camo is more of a thing to avoid other humans . Then animals .
  5. Go from 684 to 84 east or to taconic route and croos mid hutson Bridge if you want to avoid traffic that is what i do i avoid the tapz Bridge like a disease its usally messed up that way with traffic . Or time it so you come back late after rush hour if you go that way
  6. I personally think the guy who does not want to take responsibility and use some blaze orange is probably the same guy who breaks other safty rules, like shooting indiscriminately and not unloading his gun in a safe manner. Every once in a while I see one of these guys on public land and avoid them like a disease or i nicely tell them you should have some orange on. Its one of those things like unloading your gun in a safe manner . Its a safty thing that you should fellow religiously If there is a law or not anyway just like looking both ways when you cross the street . You should know to with out a law . As is NY state highly recommends you wear blaze orange when hunting!! If it takes a fine to get them to use it . It does not bother me one way or the other . The problem is how do you inforce what someone wears on private property when they hunt? Really cant and it seems like most these accidents are happening on private land and even worse among people who know each other. Maybe we should let nature take its course and decrease the dumb gene pool by letting them shoot each other. Eventually only the people that are smart enough to wear blaze orange and follow safety precautions when using a firearm will be left and this problem will solve itself in a few hundred years.
  7. Iron sites 90 yards with smoothbore shotgun .
  8. The only gun that was used was the gun the cop used to stop him
  9. They all suck until you shot one there lol
  10. Its always a risk when you hunt no matter what you do or have on .
  11. I have seen studies that show blaze orange decreases your chance of being mistaken for game by 80 and 90 % At least use a orange hat when your walking in the woods even when bow hunting .
  12. Yea your right i forget only one way pays eastbound mid hundson Bridge 1.50
  13. More like if you know your hunting friends are idiots either teach them firearm safty or hunt with out them .
  14. Thats what i do also you can go from 684 to taconic and get to the caskills with out paying tolls if you have a good gps for me its not really much longer
  15. When unloading a firearm always point in safe direction and make sure the safty is on
  16. Eleven hurt, suspect killed in 'terrifying' Ohio State attack https://www.google.com/amp/amp.usatoday.com/story/94540050/
  17. You may be able to get in from the other side of new forge road the side away from the Taconic if you no what i mean 27 to new forge road . I went from the other end road was closed off . I did not have time to check if you could get in from the other side that day . For me thats a 2 hour drive and in to hours im in the caskills much more land to explore so i never botherd to go back.
  18. What about the back of the neck ? Or basically it was that or nothing
  19. Nice and with a shotgun and only iron sites looks like ?
  20. If you live in nyc alot of guys there they consider Rochester already to be western New York just like they think Westchester is already Upstate New York .
  21. I use to just use a orange camo vest and hat but this year i got a full size orange jacket with the black camo pattern with big interior and exterior Pockets so I don't even need a backpack. Usally i just wear blue jeans pants so they pretty much stand out almost like blaze orange to humans anyway . Im hunting public so its a most for me . But it seems like more accidental shootings are happing on private land probably because people don't expect anybody to be there I'm assuming.
  22. True how would you inforce it anyway maybe on public land you could but not private and I think most of these shootings are happening on private land anyway go figure . But not going in the woods at dark would probably help prevent people from getting injured by slipping and falling in the dark . Bet there is alot of that happening that does not get reported unless its a fatality . Something hunters should think about anyway when going in before light . When you dont have to . Probably spook more deer going in when its still dark then helping yourself . Whos to say a hunter if he only waited till first light and walked in slowly would not have more chances at shooting deer then . Crashing in at 4 or 5 am with a flashlight . And then waiting for a deer to come by at sunrise . There is a good Possibility you just spoke them all away on the way in. .
