  1. This debacle damages our credibility on the world stage profoundly- hopefully, not irrepairably, though.
  2. Well, I guess freedom comes with a price. All american lives lost, of course, are tragic but in my estimation, better to lose lives over there on their turf as oppsed to losing the lives over here- on our soil, wrecking our cities , destroying our civilian planes. etc. The military operations conducted were a success and were necessary to fight the war on terror , no doubt. I do agree that withdrawal was was the right decision now, 20 yrs later but not the way it was done- it was a disaster.
  3. We obviously have totally different perspectives as I couldnt disgagree more- but thats ok!!
  4. Iraq did go well until Obama screwed up the withdrawal and allowed ISIS to take root, but I think your missing the point:NO TERROSIST ATTACKS ON AMERICAN SOIL SINCE. Yes, weve had a few lone wolves during the Obama years ,but absolutely none during Trumps term. Also, Trump decimated ISIS. Successes in Iraq were significant, indeed. We went into Afghanistan because Bin Laden was hiding out there and intelligence directly connected 911 to al Queda operating there. I agree we should have done more in Pakistan but that was difficult because there were (technically) our ally in the war on terror- Remeber Musharaff? The dude with the cool hair? Iran is a threat, of course, but they werent directly linked to 911 and . lets face it, you can only do so much!! Bombing wouldnt work as Ive stated previously; that would be a waste of resources. Boots on the ground did, though imperfect, of course. Vietnam was botched because of US strategy- if we would have stuck to larger engagementsd, it could have turned out far more in our favor.
  5. I will as is nearly everyone, even the pundits who normally, carry water for the Dems- you should too, cuz he deserves it. Also, he gets on national TV yesterday and does his best to blame Trump, the Afghans and EVERYONE else but himself- and then, insincerely, says that the buck, ultimately, stops with him. Too bad, he just didnt man up and accept responsibility completely and unequivocally like Kennnedy did in Bay of Pigs! He is a fool and totally botched this whole operation.
  6. We did go into Iraq- Iran wasnt possible because, although backwards as hell, still, much more advanced technologically and miltarily than Afghanistan. I think , based on history, you should know better than to suggest we can relysolely on just superior air/firepower: Remember Vietnam? We decimated the Taliban (although did not entriely eradicate them- for 20 years and kept the homeland safe from another 9/11. Al Queda and the Taliban are 2 separate groups , although both Muslim extemist organizations. They are not the same. Youre conflating the 2. ISIS formed in Iraq, founded by Obamas mismanagement and withdrawal bungling!
  7. They didnt know the specifics of the withdrawal plan which it appears , based on the fiasco unfolding, there was none; and I reiterate, they should have commenced evacuation far sooner. Biden failed to listen to sound advice and insisted on doing it his way and it was a disaster as a consequence.
  8. By leadership , you must mean Biden and that is absolutely dead on.
  9. That is simply not true as Al Quida was well entrenched in Afghanistan and mush off the 911 planning was conceived there. We did right being there . Stayed too long ? Sure , I’ll give you that but don’t say w never should have been there In first place as that is absurd .
  10. Not true - he mismanaged it from the beginning , ignoring advice from military advice from those around him. This is his mess , and well deserved .
  11. You’re not understanding what I’m saying - if they knew that they were gonna withdraw as they obviously didn’t, they should have been planning a safe evacuation process for all western diplomats and the afghan people who helped us - they didn’t do this . It is embarrassing .
  12. Thats because of the incredibly poor planning!! Yes, of course I do; did not have to end up that way.
  13. It DEFINITELY could have been handled better , especially considering advice from the military was ignored. Also, knowing the timeline that was delineated, why didnt they commence evacuations of the people that helped us months ago a little at a time to make it more manageable ? Now its a cluster*&$#. Biden isan absolute embarassment- you nkow this is so when even Communist News and MSDNC are criticizing him- thats bad!!
  14. The plan (if you want to call it that)was poorly conceived and naively relied on the Afghan military to handle things for themselves when his militrary advisors CLEARLY TOLD HIM TO LEAVE A CONTINGENT THERE A BIT LONGER TO HANDLE THE EVACUATION- he ignored the advice. The disaster unfolding is the result and mskes a mockery of us on the wrold stage- pathetic.
  15. I appreciate the sentiment VH, really, but I think youre mistaken- youre trying to have it both ways. Let me say that Harris has NEVER been consistent in ANY message she has everconveyed to the public- ever. From the vaccine , to the BLM riots , to the border crisis she has been inconsistent- and just plain wrong- on every single issue. Yes, she did say that she would take a vaccine recommended by Fauci and YES , she did say she would NOT TAKE A VACCINE THAT TRUMP SAYS WE SHOULD TAKE AND HE DID! So, which is it?This is my prediction: if Trump would have been reelected, and rolled out the vaccine himself, she would have refused to take it; I could be wrong , but I believe that her hatred of him far surpasses and other sentiments she may have. Also, why refer to your brethren on here as "other morons on the forum?" I would be inclined, sometimes, to use similar appelations towards a few of the members on here that happen to be on your side of the political spectrum , but I wont lower myself as that shuts down the discussion- and the listening to your message- immediately. Even if many on here disagree w/ you , I get the feeling that youve garnered respect and that guys listen to you because your posts are articulate, well reasoned and on-point- I know that I do. Youre better than that !
  16. Wow, Really- Are you sure about the 2 COVID patients, though? Why would he post that then?
  17. Guess the fancy meter is off just a tad , then!! lol
  18. Well, Im not sure about Biden ,but Harris certainly did, see here: https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/news/kamala-harris-says-she-wouldnt-trust-a-vaccine-trump-recommended/ar-BB19O9k4
  19. He should have listened to his military advisors and kept the 4500 troops there throughout the entire withdrawal process like he was advised to- also, he should not have announced such a discrete and specific withdrawal timetable. He made a HUGE blunder here and i fear ALOT of people will die as a consequence. Yes, elections do, indeed have consequences
