  1. Actually , I think you have that reversed in terms of which side of the political spectrum has to have everything their way and that the other side is “ stupid” . I’m sure there are exceptions , but I find that sentiment , that snarky arrogance in tone and tenor , comes more from the left than the right . Again , certainly not always , of course , but generally IMHO. If you want those who disagree w you to listen , convince them using cogent , articulate , well constructed arguments , not insults and snarky demeaning arrogant put downs I say!!
  2. Think you may be wrong about the whole mask wearing and why the CDC is reversing its Decision : check out this article from a LEFT LEANING news outlet : https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2021/07/30/1022867219/cdc-study-provincetown-delta-vaccinated-breakthrough-mask-guidance
  3. You won’t be wearing a mask just to protect them , but yourself as well- there are break through cases and , although far fewer than in the unvaccinated , are increasing in numbers . If you complain about Mask wearing again , yet get sick anyway after receiving the vax, who then will you blame ?
  4. Interesting article by a Guest Writer for NYT whos citizenship status is, guess what: Non-citizen!! Interesting article , to say the least , but wrong , IMHO at so many levels. https://www.foxnews.com/media/new-york-times-guest-citizens-right-vote Also, heres a nice rebuttal to the article in a podcast by my man Tim Poole: https://ugetube.com/watch/nyt-article-says-non-citizens-should-vote-notes-it-would-help-democrats-and-destroy-the-republicans_ThaKHId94lNJ69p.html Am I right here or does she have a point, at least in local or state elections?
  5. Why do you think that is? Is it because the antigen spikes found on the delta are different enough from those that the vaccine provides protection against?
  6. Ok and what about those who have already had COVID- do they have protection against delta (as you understand it) or no?
  7. Yes, and with good reason. Do you really want to hand over that much power to the federal government to regulate our lives and infringe upon our individual liberties that easily? If granted that power, does it then become a gateway statute inexorably leading to further, more restrictive mandates in the future? Thats what many of us fear , and with good reason IMHO. Dont get me wrong, I' am no Anti-vaxxer by any stretch, believing in the efficacy of it to protect the recipient from severe disease; But I also question its safety and the potential side effects that may crop up in the months and years to come due to the limited number of experimental trials conducted in its devpt, albeit out of necessity, of course. Can you guarantee me there will be no long term effects suffered by those receiving the vaccine?? No...no one can. Again, that doesnt mean that I'm against it eithther as I am CONSIDERING getting it due to the prevalence of the delta variant currently, in which the vaccine seemingly offers more protection than natural immunity , which i already have. Each individual has to do their own risk-assessment analysis in order to determine their own course of action at this stage of the pandemic , rather than directives being OREDERED them by the govt. In terms of the social responsibility inherent to citizenry of any nation-state, I agree with you to a certain point , but I dont think were there yet, not by a long shot, and youre leaving out one essential aspect: what about the responsibility that is incumbent upon the individual to protect themselves, rather than relying on govt mandates (i.e., social control and regulation of other citizens) to protect you? If you, as an individual, know you are immunocompromised , for whatever reason , then YOU should go and get the vaccine yourself and not worry about what others are doing!! What if you get sick anyway? Well, theres a small chance of that happening regardless of what others are doing around you, the way I see it, BUT YOU DO YOURE PART TO PROTECT YOURSELF!!
  8. Yes, this is my question as well and brings up an interesting bioethical issue apropos of conferred immunity: can you be a vector of transmission even after after developing immunity , whether it be natural or via vaccination? I honestly dont know, but its possible, albeit not probable.
  9. Maybe youve already addressed this, but Ill as anyway to save time trying to search it up: have you had corona yet?
  10. Wow, that is Very insightful Chef. Im sure that that the cogent, well presented argument you proffered will now convince everyone-if not vaccinated- to run out and get it. Well done
  11. Thats something I dont wanna know or even think about
  12. Actually, I consider myself center-right politically, and would guess from your posts that your center-left (roughly). Discussions and spirited debates enable people with opposing view points to understand each others perspective more throughly and, perhaps, enable them to comprehend the issue(s) more comprehensively. I like an opposing POV for that reason, lest I become too extreme myself- Dont stop posting!!
  13. Schrodinger believed that , at the quantum level at least, systems display dual states or qualities until observed or quantified, which then, forces the conversion to one state of being or another. Applying this to your belief system in reference to God, your saying (I think) that learning about , studying God forces the intrinsic duality into either existence or non-existence? Wow Very cool
  14. Im familiar with this paradox but am curious how it influences youre approach to God?
  15. Well, I am disappointed ; I may disagree with you often politically but it is, after all, only a discussion .
  16. In your “ rebuttal” , you included nothing of substance as to what I said In reply to you - come on Mike; You can do better than that!! I always Respected your POV and enjoyed Our robust debates. In the words of the omniscient and infallible Bill OReilly , where am I going Wrong here ? Lol
  17. He is when hes testifying about something that VERY specifically pertains to his political beliefs (anti-Trump, Capitol Hill rioters) ; also, the fact that hes a police officer and presented himself as a pro- law enforcement guy yet expresses pro BLM sentiment , in my view, definitely diminishes his credibility. Does that mean his account is NECESSARILY baised? No, but I would bet that , due to the aforementioned issues regarding him , his character and his background, that it is- without a doubt in my mind. BTW, I do support the Capitol Hill rioters. That doesnt mean that I agree with what they did , because I do not and emphatically condemn their actions and their conduct that day- but I do sympathize with their cause, as you do with BLM (I know this from previous threads in which you and I discussed your thoughts on the BLM movement).
  18. Forgive my saying, but based on your description, doesnt sound like your too conservative- would you give me an example of an issue in which you agree with the right on? Also, are there any Democrat politicans that you are equally contemptuous of? I feel the same way that you do about the current Prez, also, Obama, Pelosi, Adam Schiff, AOC, the Squad members, and a host of other Democrats and diagree with you about Trump and Cruz. Who's MTG, btw? Gaetz sounds like hes a perv so tend to agree there (which is too bad cuz I liked his stance on many of the issues) .
  19. Aren't you also left-of-center politically? Its perfectly ok , of course, but I think he may be associating your avatar name with the content of your posts- I know that I did!
