  1. I assume, from your statement, that you are not a FOX News guy lol. Do you watch CNN or MSNBC as an alternative? You do, of course realize they PROFOUNDLY distort the news to fit their liberal narrative, dont you? I agree that FOX does the same and to the right, but it astounds me when I hear those on the left make this assertion while believing theyre news channels -in contrast- are fair and unbiased ,and that through painstaking meticulous research reporting , SOMEHOW arrive at THE TRUTH which supports the Lefts narrative! Wow: if only we (conservatives) would wake up someday and realize the errors of our ways LOL.
  2. CNN is way further left than where its placed in the schematic.
  3. Yes, I see its down now. Why did they take it down , do you think?
  4. So glad hes gone- I will give him credit for doing the right thing -this one time- by stepping aside.
  5. As Ive said before, I could be persuaded to get it- just saw on FOX that 3 first responders died , all unvaxxed. I DO believe that with delta, you can still get -and transmit- COVID if vaxxed, but you also (likely) will not have as severe an outcome of the disease as those who are unvaxxed. For me, its been a cost-benefit analysis ever since I first got COVID myself back in Feb. After I fully recovered, I felt good and figured I was covered in terms of immunity- at least for awhile. Now, with the devpt of delta and the likelihood of other variants developing, that may not be the case. Im 53 right now, am very healthy , and have some immunity due to my previous bout w/ COVID- should I get the vax? Right not, my answer is no as I feel that I'm likely to fight off the virus if contracted again- is that a guarantee? Of course not; life is fraught with risks that are associated with countless choices we must make. This is but another example of that. On the other hand, If I were 75 and had more health issues, I would already be vaxxed; no question about it, as my chance of having a more severe outcome if contracting the virus would be much greater- far greater than it is currently- and would far outweigh any concerns I may have with long term side effects from getting the vaxx.
  6. I had a debate last night with a woman Who’s left leaning , Trump hater , etc. and also VERY much a pro Do what the government mandates vaxxer. She was respectful and polite for the most part , but there were times where I could detect her contempt and revulsion for “ people like me who haven’t been vaccinated yet”. Basically , her argument is that we ( the unvaxxed) are the ones fueling the current surge in hospitalizations and perpetuating the spread of the virus; further , she contends that the virus would fall flat in its face now if only the rest of us would go get it . She supports mandates to compel vaccination in all citizens and believes that if you don’t get vaxxed and get sick , then you shouldn’t get treated at a hospital because it’s punishing her and the “vaxxed” crowd because it increases their health care costs- I was absolutely mortified . I said to her “ well, if we take your logic one step further , then what about obese people ; should we not treat them if they suffer a heart attack because of their life choices ? Should we make them pay full price for their bp meds to force them to “ wake up” and stop impacting us economically? Some people are just SO EXTREME in their thinking - unreal .
  7. Steve , I may be persuaded that it is a moral obligation , but what worries me is the fact that it was rushed out so quickly , albeit out of necessity , of course . If there was solid proof that my not being vaccinated was a detriment to fellow citizens , I assure that I WOULD get the vaccine ASAP- but do you know that for a fact? I don’t think anyone does , that’s why I’m apprehensive .
  8. Steve , I’m not sure what you’re point is here , though : are you saying that they felt they had a moral obligation to go fight WWII and that is analogous to how citizens today should feel about getting the vaccine ? Not saying it’s wrong btw , just want clarification . Thanks
  9. I looked it up and I think it’s a yellow poplar .
  10. I agree with everything you said except which side you’re directing it towards - rather than say “leftist liberals “ for the group you purport to the one that’s being castigated for a choice , I think you mean “ conservative” . See posts from Chef and Gobbler Chaser for reference - they are not touting the “ conservative point of view “ and are quite condescending , judgemental and demeaning . With all due respect , I believe you’re criticism is misdirected towards the wrong group my friend .
  11. VH asked someone earlier in another thread if they might have any misgivings About not getting vaxxed if they knew they had infected others, suggesting that getting it results in lower transmissibility- this means you’re “safer “ to be around ( I guess).
  12. Down In central VA right now and came across this weird tree . Anyone ever see this type of leaf before ?
  13. Ok, Got it . I agree , but to not get vaccinated out of concern for deleterious effects long term is not( at least , not presently).
  14. That’s not true as the delta originated in India and we have no control over that- moreover , your dismissal of the Illegal immigration issue at the southern border contradicts this . Your other points , however , seem valid .
  15. Nothing wrong w that , just keep in mind that they are not infallible; at this stage of the game , there is still much about the virus - and the vaccine - that is largely unknown unfortunately.
  16. It’s never a waste of time to Attempt to convince others They’re wrong about an issue if you’re certain you’re right , especially if it directly impacts their safety and well being .
  17. I read a post from ( get this ) Jennifer Anniston online this am and , surprisingly , it was fairly well written and got me thinking about the issues surrounding vaccines . To sum up her POV from the article , Anniston Contends that we , as American citizens , do , indeed Have an obligation to each other to get the vaccine in order to protect other citizens , lest we unwittingly infect them. Moreover , This POV appears to be Echoed by a few of our left leaving/ liberal minded brethren on here-Posts by VH , Knhrcke, Virgil As examples arguing this point ( and others ) exceedingly well IMHO. My question here is : do we , indeed , have an obligation ,not only to ourselves and our immediate family and loved ones , but to other citizens as well , in order to protect them from COVID to receive the vaccine ? Or , due to the inherent problems associated with its efficacy , in addition to the Vast unknowns ( i. e. Chronic long term issues ) that may afflict those that get it months or years down the road , are we actually better off not getting the vax , thereby protecting ourselves and others more by not ? Also, should it be viewed from the perspective that each individual ultimately, need decide for themselves what’s best for them and that we are responsible for our own health and safety exclusively and not other citizens ? What do you think ?
  18. Some are , undoubtedly but that’s a major oversimplification i d bet .
  19. Let’s secure the border first - the way it appears , the vaccines efficacy is more and more In Question Im Terms of its Efficacy for protecting against delta anyway. I just spoke to a woman down here in SC who’s Hubby got COVID , is sick and is FULLY VACCINATED . These cases are more than just merely anecdotal . I don’t think it protects that well against delta - period . But I DO BELIEVE that protecting the border is a national imperative and should be Taken care of IMMEDIATELY, with or sans COVID . Doesn’t make sense and is very dangerous. BIDEN IS WRONG HERE. END OF STORY .
