  1. I found a small scrape in some pines near the cabin. There was a pile of dung at the edge of it,it was dried up,did'nt look too new,but there was bare dirt and no leaves or pine needles in it,so I hung a wick with some 10 year old doe pee spray I had found in my huntin stuff.LOL That night it was visited by this Y buck. 010.AVI
  2. Baking soda works fine.....and yes I am cheap too!
  3. I love to still hunt as much as I love to get there early and become one with the surroundings. I get the rush of hearing them coming in and them not knowing I exist. Either way is great. Every situation calls for a different strategy. Both ways can be ultra productive.
  4. I use cigarettes, coffee bacon eggs toast...well you get the idea. I do spray my outer clothing and boots sometimes with scent killer plus, the old mix,it expired a year or so ago. I figure I paid for it,may as well use it up.I used to put my outer clothing in a bag with hemlock or pine bows for a day or 2. Then there was a time my grandfather had a tiny bottle of pine scent , the red stuff, you older gents will remember it,it was like thick pine sap and smelled 10x stronger than a pine tree sticking up your nose,lol....and thicker n chit. We used to put it on our hats and go hunting....a cure all back then for scent.
  5. This is a first for me,yotes on cam.The AM and PM are backwards...I changed batts and made a ooops. EDIT: This is at the cabin in West Amboy,NY.
  6. YOU did what YOU felt ,was THE CORRECT thing to do. You need NOT to answer to anyone but YOU. That's what I say about it. You taught the young ones very well in my opinion.
  7. That don't matter. You could put a 100GB card in a cam that can only handle a 2GB card. When the cam takes the max it can,it will be done. Not being a smart axx but that's how it works. I use whatever cards I have on hand, most are too big(memory wise) for my cam,but never will it effect the cam. 2 gigs is alot of pics, most people will never see that much on 1 trail cam.
  8. This is what I use.. http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/SVP-HDDV2200-5MP-2-inch-LCD-Black-Digital-Camcorder-with-2GB-SDHC-Memory-Card/5170240/product.html not the best way to go,but I can also use it for pics/videos in the woods bla,bla bla.I switch out the SD cards and it seems to work the best for me. You can take the card from your trail cam, place it in the camera, see whats there and put it back or replace it JMO
  9. Ditto..you guys take care over there.
  10. Yotes like a deer carcass.....posting pics in the trail cam section.Yes it was a legal kill in ML season NZ.
  11. Ha! I have on video a small but legal spike, taking a crap or P-ing in a scrape....BUT there is already a pile of dung in it!
  12. We...3 big guys moved mine from the back of my P-UP with a hand cart,up 3 steps (brick) across the deck and up another step then across a hardwood floor, over a 2ftx2ft vent(I have forced hot air) I laid a small piece of heavy plywood over it,then a 90 into the room where it was going. The hardest part was up the 3 steps....what a SOB to do it...we aint little boys....depending on size, ofcourse on the unit,it's not for 150 lb guys to deal with,I know there may be a hero or 2 out there, but we are all betwixt 200-250 and 6ft or some. Not for wimps... No offense intended guys, but when something weighs 2-3 times your weight......you are not throwing it around.
  13. A rutting buck Edit;;;; bear dung is close to identicle to human projectile......
  14. Good goin! I have only seen 1 male on my property drummin and he did have a partner for a short while, but then I found her in more than 1 piece by the gate....so he is alone again. I just enjoy hearing him drum,I let him alone. Though I hope to see more one day, love to hunt/eat them.
  15. I'm located but it's off buy a house or 2 but close enough. Cool idea.
  16. Just a couple recent shots of critters. The black with eyes I am almost 100% sure is a yote on the gut pile. When I went out on the porch in the very early morning,I heard alot of noise over that way and when I shined the light,it took off down through the woods making a ton of noise. The gutpile was gone(it was drug off)....I'm not so sure a fox would/could of done that and as fast as it was dragged through the woods.I know the yotes are around and they would have no problem dragging a pile like this one was through the weeds and woods,it's thick where it was drug.
  17. My WGI IR4 did this a cpl times.Strange indeed. I pulled the SD card and the camera still has 30 photos on it itself....so I will need to bring it home and plug it into the pc to clear it.And I have a new SD card to start out fresh. When I last checked my SD card on my pc,I could not get it to load anything on my pc ,it said it was damaged.....there was a host of pics on it,I was really agitated to say the least, but figured a different way to see the files and used different measures to get them loaded up.I looked closer at the old card and saw it was physically broken, the seem had split. But,when I finally was able to see the pics on it,I did have some that were distorted like the one you posted. So check to see if your card may possibly be split on the side.
  18. I can't get back up the cabin till Nov 12th thru the 15th....I hope it won't be too late to find some action.
  19. That's pretty good when you first look at it.
