Definitely not as many as I do glassing in velvet. This particular spot in 8P is awesome...its common to see 25-30 bucks at one time in this 40 acre alfalfa field during late summer. I was kind of disappointed tonight that the count was ONLY 20 bucks...lol. No lie, there are at least 20 different bucks that Ive glassed or have on cam that are as big or bigger than the ones in the pics (mostly 2&3 yr olds). Oddly, theres always way more bucks than does out here. Alot of them will scatter in mid-late September. Unfortunately, this spot will be rotated to corn next year and with it will go all the velvet scouting...

Some interesting data on Mechanicals VS Fixed
WNY Bowhunter replied to Culvercreek hunt club's topic in Bow Hunting
I've used nothing but mechanicals since 2011. In that time, I have lost two deer. One was a dead center shoulder hit and the other was a super alert doe that jumped the string causing my arrow to hit through the backstraps. Both were poor shots that would have resulted in the same outcome with a fixed head. This season I will be carrying mechanicals once again... -
That's awesome. Watching individual bucks develop over multiple years is my favorite part of using trailcams. I enjoy this aspect of it more than for scouting/hunting purposes. Some deer blow up over time but most only show little-modest gains from year to year.

This was him two years ago. I think he was a 2.5 yr old here.
-
This is the third year of getting him on cam...he actually had a sweet droptine back in '17.
-
I believe he's a 4 yr old this year.

Nope.

Leaving tomorrow morning...hope to get back home early enough to check cams in the afternoon before having to work the next three days. As for missing...it's not you...it's probably the mathews!

I thought you get 60lbs of boneless meat from a 2 year old doe? Lol. I hope to find out what he dresses out at. I believe him to be a 5 yr old this year. He's never had much for tinelength. Same deer from '16... 2017 sheds...

These pics all came from LetEmGrow's spot...;)

These cams are visible from the road but still several hundred yards from the road...you'd have pretty good eyes to see the red IR flash.
-
Many of my cams are field edge sets that are visible from the road. I'd had to advertise their presence with a bright white flash.

The one I'm trying to get isn't cooperating...
-
I hope so too...

I can't hear any audible click/filter drop noise.

This guy seems to have no problem picking it out... I keep buying the black flash/no flash cams but I really don't think they make much difference to the deer at close range. They quite often seem to be looking directly at the cams but never seem spooked by them. Guess I could always hang them higher.

Guess there's no doubt who's in charge of this part of the alfalfa field...

They're the two that I'm after here. The aggressive one on the right is at least a 5 year old or maybe 6...forth year getting him on cam. He's never been a monster scorer and I think he was a little wider last year.

There are no deer in 8P...

Yes, DMAPs are extra tags to be used during the regular hunting season. Sons

Yep, the winery properties that I hunt near Keuka Lake in 8P get plenty of nuisance permits. Deer season is in all summer...

I hunt 8P and 8R. It's crazy, in 8R my wife and I can get 4 DMPs each but you little walk across the road and you almost need a preference point to get one in 8P.

FYI, if you happen to hit a good one with the new jeep this fall...I'm going to take the class to become a certified scorer for the NYS and northeast BBC next month.
