Put a cam on a fresh scrape Friday afternoon at a new spot where I'm thinking of hunting opening morning. Few decent ones on first check. Theses guys are up feeding on the bumper crop of acorns mid day...

A buddy of mine just harvested three dumptrucks worth of tritical and said I could grab some to try. I would if I had more plots to put in.

That's crazy, I paid $10 for 100# of rye seed directly from the the farmer.

Upgraded from the knockoff Chinese Rage hypos to the real Feradyne Rage hypo trypans...also made in China. They look nasty. Also snagged another pack of the newer version Rocket Steelheads.

I do have history with many of these deer but not that much...lol. I have three years worth of sheds off a couple. Many come from properties that I only have permission to shed hunt.

I'm in the process of doing a little remodeling to my taxidermy shop/man cave and am realizing that I may have a problem...too many antlers laying around getting in my way!

Here's a fully mature "scrub" buck (7 yrs old this year). This is the only pic I have this year from a month ago. He looks awesome now but still wouldn't score very high. I would love to kill him simply for the amount of history that I have with him...
