Landtracdeerhunter's " Shed The Season 2015 "
WNY Bowhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in Member Hunting Journals
Congrats. That's a beauty of a deadhead. Too bad he didn't get to wear your tag... -
You are correct. There was a bumper crop of apples last fall. This particular cam was set up on the Apple tree and there were apples on the ground through November. I may have accidentally grabbed a few branches and shook them a bit to accelerate the drop age...

Yes it does. They've been that way every year... 2014: 2013: 2012:

I presume that you mean without the deer attached to them? Won't be long until these bones are laying on the ground!!!

Couple betters pics of the 2 year old from back in Sept... The buck in the background is still alive too...

This awesome little palmated yearling looks like he could be a Steuben County stud in a couple of years!!! [/url

Checked a couple of cameras today that were set up on some oaks, had 6 bucks on camera since Thanksgiving... Of note: Wannabe (3.5 year old) is still kicking around... Last pics prior to gun season... Monday morning... Daylight, only 15 yds from my groundblind!!! My favorite 2.5 yr old, 11-pt. I'm super excited to see what he turns into this next year!!! Sunday evening...

Congrats, not how I like to find my sheds though. I plan on starting my shedding adventures around the end of the month. Last year, I found the first freshie on 12/27...year before it was 12/15. Can't wait to start looking!

I've got a few I need to degrease better...they've turned almost yellow over time.
-
Think you need to find so new hunting ground to increase your odds...
-
This is another spot that I don't actually hunt but I do look for sheds here. Was really hoping to get a crack at finding them. A friend of mine had his antlers from last year. He did a bit of growing in '14!!!

I posted this thread a few months back about a local deer that my wife and I had videoed back in July... http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/23171-wide-load/page-1 Anyways, just thought that I'd make a new thread to update the old one and to show off on heck of a NY buck!!! Note: I DO NOT now any details other than the guy in the photo is not the hunter (photo was taken at a local butcher shop) Before: After:

2014 Hunting NY Gun Season Harvest Thread
WNY Bowhunter replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I went out for a couple hours in the morning, things were surprisingly quiet...saw a couple of does...my wife killed one of them. Got out again later in the afternoon and passed up two small bucks but couldn't pass up this big girl...- 45 replies

Same scrape...couple of decent new bucks:

We may have gotten stuck with Cuomo again...but at least we grow some nice bucks in the western half of the state!!!
-
As for score... I've got a deadhead 8-pt that looks very similar to that that grosses 136. Yours is definitely bigger... he'll grosses mid 140s for sure!!!
-
That's a total STUD. Congrats!!!
-
Don't you have sheds off him from the past 2 years?

Don't forget to get Get out and VOTE Tuesday November 4th

Without a doubt, as a whole we got totally screwed over by the NYC counties!!! How can you compete with the numbers that they had? The Bronx: 113,00+ for Cuomo, Brooklyn: 227,000, Nassau / Queens: both 169,000, Manhattan: 190,000!!! That's the election in a nutshelll...all that even mattered. Astorino never had a chance. Thank you NYC Counties!!!! -
Honestly, I think that the scrapes have been abandoned already. Set a new cam up today and none of the scrapes seem to have been freshened in the past few days.

Buck #3: Buck #4: Wish he would have come closer...

Set a camera up on an active scrape (there are like 15 scrapes in a 200 yd stretch) and got some good pics of a few nice bucks using it... Buck #1:
