64lbs for me on my Mathews, never not had a pass through. What type of bow is it that you have it at 80lbs?
-
My Mathews SQ2 is still for sale.
-
I have used it with water and by itself on a patch, works great. You can get the cheep knock off window cleaner too ,works the same.I soak my breach plug in it in a Dixie cup to get T7 off,it just disolves and comes clean as can be.Might have to try simple green SteveB.... I like to run a few patches with some good Rem oil or other type of oil then run a few dry ones down it...

Correct.. I use a splash of windex too, works great.

I bought a Moultri I40 on sale at Gander over the winter for $175.From what I am told its a good trail cam. I hope to set it up soon.Seems like over the past few months there are more and more trail cameras out there then there was back just a short time ago.I see Bushnell has a really compact one that has gotten good reviews.

CVA's are fine, but don't just limit yourself to them. There are plenty of good used ones out there too or new ones like TC,Traditions,Remington or Whites..BUT please make sure to read all owners manuals before using. Once you get one,I am sure one of us can help you with powder, primers, bullets, and scopes if you choose. Muzzle loading is a great sport, you will enjoy it. Steve

I am in the market for one too,I have been told Cannon are the best, all others are second.Gander does have some nice ones.1200 degree Farenheit would be a good fire proof rating. But you have to read close, some say it can only handle that for a hour.So you better hope it gets put out before that. The other thing I was told you want is atleast 5 bolts in the door.So that would be like 5 dead bolts. The electronic ones are nice, but I have heard they are problematic.....

Steve: Did you use pink or white tape? Thanks, Steve

Going to try some teflon tape on my in line breech plug.Any of you guys try this before to reduce some of the blowback? I have heard good results...

Are they 13 or 15 in ?

Can't let it go for 200,I got that much in arrows / tips / broadheads... If I sell it I am taking a break from bow hunting,if I don't sell it I will still use it this season.I had told my wife I was selling it to get another White muzzle loader. :} I have a lifetime bow license so if it goes I will get back in it soon or later.

I like to hunt for meat, not horns. But at our camp we all agee'd to let the spikes walk until next year.As a result we are not only seeing biggers horns, but bigger bodyied deer too. The only ones allowed to shoot a spike or small crotch horn are the first time hunters who have never gotten a deer. This method seems to work for our family very well.

Was that from the Adks, they are really big compared to one's I have seen and shot. Very impressive.
-
Are you talking older in flintlock, cap or inline?
-
If its a Nikon buckmaster it has a life time warranty.I have one and never had a issue on the ground or in the air..I would get another one in a heart beat. Steve

Only when it rains for me and when that comes I take a little sandwitch bag and put it over the muzzle and wrap a rubber band around it.I keep some in my back pack while in the woods.Always good to have before the storm comes. Steve
-
I have shot T7 and pryodex loose and pellets. Also blackhorn 209.Just what ever each person likes better I guess. At the rainge I use loose but for hunting I use pellets.I have not seen any difference between T7 pellets or pyrodex pellets when shooting conicals.T7 leaves a crud "ring" but seems to be easier to clean up with just some water. If I go hunting at camp for the weekend I have left pellets in there for three days then had no issue shooting the gun off or un-loading from the breech plug.

Are you talking pellets or loose?

Atleast 3-4 times a year for me.Always after the season in which each gun is used. Then a couple more times during the year.It keeps the blooding pumping until hunting season starts.
