Yeah that's not the fun part. I once had to drag one across a river and it was kinda Swift and the deer was about pulling me down the river. I get out after about a mile or so and my buddy is still sitting there. I asked him if he heard me shoot and he said yeah I figured you missed it was 4 shots. Well he was right on 3 of them. Lol As they say nothing like dragging out a deer to tell you how out of shape you really are. Lol. Even guys in great shape struggle with it. Which I am not one of those guys. Looks like a great buck.

Hunt #41 1:15- dark. Point stand Saw nothing in the stand. Kicked one up on the way out in brush past wayback. All I saw was tail and speed. Great quiet sit in light snow but nothing wandered thru.

Hunt #40. Point. Light -10:15. Had 2 doe come in behind me about 8. They snuck in to about 40 yards. I turned to look as I heard steps and stand creaked a little. The larger one just turned and flicked her tail a couple of times and they wandered off. Holding out for a buck. Plus 3 does have taken off the property this year and that's a lot for this spot. Back out about 1. Then no hunting til Friday . I have fri-mon off.

Looks like 2 more pointz for the picks of Genzeek and Lawd!

A buck any buck is in trouble now. A doe with a branch stuck to it's head probably is too. Good luck all.

Why do we have "Likes" on this site? Shouldnt we have Gobbles, Grunts and Snortwheezes to give out? It would seem more fitting. Wouldn't you rather get notified you got 6 Gobbles rather than "Likes"... Or can give out Snortwheezes for a "dislike"..... Or how about a Grunt or two..... Maybe a waving white deer tail for sad.... Just sayin. Yeah I am not hunting today. Lol.

I use spices from one of the Amish stores here often. I like their cracked pepper - which i use and also add jalepenos, their smoked sausage spices are good too. Walton's has some great sausage spices too. Love trying some new ones. This year I have a foothills moonshine mix I got from Waltons I'm gonna try as well.

The big woods I would agree. Love wind for some still hunting. But my swamp land and area with 12 trees on it not so much. Good luck up there. I will be out after the snow starts but high winds and driving rain, sitting in a stand is a pass for me. Hope you get on a good track..
