Oldest son was alittle nervous going to big school. It'll be a big change with lockers and changing classes. I told just go with it have fun meet some new friends and listen to your teachers and learn. Told both boys today school comes before all other extra curricular activities. They understand. Youngest has travel team tryouts coming up on Sunday and next Sunday.

We'll school officially starts today. Got my oldest going into 6 grade in middle school. My youngest will be in 5th at elementary school. Feels just like yesterday they were just starting school. Man time flies by fast. Still get that lump in throat as I watch them get on the bus. Anyone else's kids starting today?

Mine is a pit boss pellet smoker. Set on 250 right thru to. The time I put them on grill then increase heat to heat up bbq sauce. -

321 method! I season my ribs with a rub after removing membrane skin on in side of each rack. Let set at room temperature for alittle while. Put on smoker for 3 hours to aquire smoke. Then take them off put them in tin foil. Add alittle honey and apple cider vinegar spirits. Then fold foil and set back on smoker for 2 hours. Finally remove from tin foil. Add bbq sauce and back on smoker or grill for another hour. Applying bbq sauce. They turn out great. -
I'll make some once my boys are done with the glazier pickled sausage. They like that brine.

Thank you all for encouraging words. Slept good last night with medicine cocktail they prescribed me. Little set back this morning. Went for walk with walker with my wife's assistance. Made it up and back. I wanted to hangout outside in sun so I sat on walker. Started feeling woosy she came out to get me up but couldn't. So she went inside to get phone to call my mom. By the time she got back I had passed out and on the tarmac. I seen the light. I laid there for a few. With wife's assistance I got up and got inside. I got a split lip scraped up chin chest and knees. Wife cleaned me up. I'm in time out on the couch after getting a earful. I over did it. Now I realize I have to slow down. Thinking it might be medicine that I am not use to taking. Sorry for rambling. Again thanks for support.

We'll had my right hip replacement surgery today at UVM CVPH health network. Was at hospital by 830 very emotional time not knowing and worrying what could happen. Had very good group of people taking care of me. Being a combat veteran using the community cares program for local treatment instead of the long haul travel 2 1/2 hours to Stratton VA hospital in Albany. They took precautions for my PTSD. Nurses anesthesiologist and Dr we're great. Started me off with IV and lyrica Tylenol aspirin and celebrex. I was the youngest person the Dr performed this surgery on. Surgery went great Dr said my hip bone was very bad. Came out of anesthesia without incident. They were preparing for the worst not knowing. Ate some food and drank some water orange juice and cranberry juice. Did PT walking around with walker and crutches. Walked up stairs and bent down to pick something up and bent down to touch my ankle. Came home around 400. Did some sunbathing out side in walker and relaxing. Took a few walks and exercises like recommended. Dozed off for 10 minutes after meds. Now just relaxing. Going to take my recovery slow. Pain is not bad less than I had before. I was originally scheduled for September 30 but they had a cancellation and bumped me up to today. Hopefully I'll be able to make it out deer hunting at some point. Sorry for rambling on. Now it's trying to find something to keep me busy while I recover any recommendations would be great. Huntingny has been great with information and meeting new friends to hunt with.

Archery Season is going to be a short one

My total hip replacement surgery on my right side was moved up from September 30 to the 2nd this Friday. Been suffering since last October. VA scheduled MRI in June. It revealed my femoral head was dead. I'm only 37. So by the time they got me to see a orthopedic surgeon my femoral head was in complete collapse. So no choice but to have a complete hip replacement. The pain at times has been unbearable and walking with limp. Hopefully this does the trick and gets me back on my feet and pain free. Hopefully I'll be able to hunt at some point this hunting season after PT and feeling back to normal. -
30 lbs of San marzano tomatoes and 21 lbs of other canning tomatoes plus some from my garden yielded 24 quarts. Just finished 7 in canner got another 7 in canner and 7 going into water bath here soon. Then 3 for canner after.
-
We'll stopped at 2 local farms bought 30 lbs of San marzano tomatoes for $30. I asked for Roma's but they'll do. Then went to another and got 21 lbs for $15.
-
Seen them for $22 but I'm sure there going up with supply and demand. Lots of people I know are stocking up. Thanks for informing me I will let you know what they are up here. Sure different farms different prices.
-
I'll be canning tomatoes here soon. Try to do 50 quarts between what I get out of garden and buy in bulk from local farms. Roma's are best more tomato less juice. I use my pressure canner for canning hardest part is waiting to cool down to do more batches.
