  1. Owner said looks like we're out of ammo for it. I said I just bought the gun now no ammo. He went to back came out said I was holding these for myself but I haven't gotten my license yet. Remington coreloks 7mm08 140 grain. Thanked him great guy to deal with. He didn't have to do that.
  2. Well been thinking about it for a while going to runnings and dicks sporting goods. Not finding what I wanted. So went to 3 different places today. Nothing caught my eye at first 2 places. Was looking for a rifle scope combo. Was looking at several different calibers. Finally found rifle I wanted in caliber but they couldn't get the rails to put a scope on it. Finally he reaches down and comes up with a savage axis II 7mm08. Camo synthetic stock light. 20 inch barrel. Caliber I was looking at. Put a buck masters sig Sauer 3x9x40 scope on it and boresighted. 4 shots I was with in a baseball at 50 yards. Got it set where I wanted it. I'm happy was looking at the Mossberg Patriot but they didn't have a caliber I was looking for. Now I'm going to try a few different ammo brands to see what she likes best. Also got a buddy who said he's got the stuff to reload also. Finally found 3006 ammo too. I love the feel of the rifle. Firing don't even feel the recoil. I'm happy.
  3. Yes I hear you there. I've got everything to lose being disabled veteran. My bad I understand where you're coming from but being threatened comes vengeance. Oh I forgot I'm in NY not Georgia or Florida with stand your ground. I appreciate you looking out for me.
  4. Nahhh I get where your coming from not worth it.
  5. You'll deal with that till you speak up for yourself or punchem in the face. Or let the gun do the talking on hip or at the ready.
  6. Live from my house window. 5 deer 2 does 3 skippers out back. 1 skipper has been out there since 1230. Enjoying the winter rye and soccer field grass. Looked at them through scope not orphaning a fawn today. Beautiful day outside.
  7. When I was at drum we trained all the time. Most deployed division in us army.
  8. That's great. That she's talking to a recruiter. Military is a good step in right direction. Opens good opportunities to see the states and world.
  9. 10 th mountain is training. 1st brigade is in Iraq. 2 nd brigade is scheduled for training in jrtc fort Polk. Wolc why is oldest coming home not to pry? Times are hard. Kill a big one up here in the dacks. Good luck fishing calling for snow beginning of week so have fun.
  10. Good luck with your recovery. I'm 6 weeks since my hip replacement surgery. Still coming along but feel better. Positioning for sleep was difficult and some pt exercises. You got this.
  11. Any tree that @Swamp_bucks puts me near this year. Won't be able to climb tree due to hip replacement surgery. But I ll at least be in woods hunting taking it easy lol.
  12. Lol carrots and apples and corn bags oh my. Adirondack trio oh also seen beets bagged up too.
  13. Canned venison and bear is some good eating. Plus it's easy to prepare also.
  14. Well I was at a rememberance get together. My son called he made the 10 u travel team. Been waiting since September 11 his birthday. He worked really hard for this finally coming thru. Surprised I will be coaching lol. Military coaches lol should be fun.
  15. On the front lawn lol. Community population control proof is in the picture.
  16. Yes my neighbor had winter rye and used to do organic potatoes. Plus town garage has 2 green lush soccer fields there. Most I've seen before was 12-15. Last night was crazy. Private all around. Most guys don't shoot does so the buck to do ratio is out of wack. Checked camera that's been soaked since August. Just have a doe and fawn. They don't like my property I guess.
  17. Being handicapped from hip replacement surgery. Can I shoot one from my vehicle or house and Dec can drag it lol. Needed to say that being a smartass. Congrats to all that scored. Hopefully be out soon November we will see. Cold is making them move. Last night before dark field next to my house had 30-40 deer multiple bucks. I'm in the dacks deer are finally coming back around. Waiting to see how many are out there tonight.
  18. Will try that thanks for the recommendations. Baseball this morning 37 degrees sunny with wind. Today they did game simulations. Base running , fielding grounders and over shoulder pop flys. They also explained and corrected fundamentals. Man I felt for the kids stingers off bats and with fielding the ball. Definitely hard to keep the hands warm. They all stuck it out. Good day of baseball.
  19. We just started this new organization that gets looked at. We have practice every Sunday 9-12 thru Oct 25 and hopefully winter ball. Then up again in February. We'll see my boy likes it. He just got a brand new glove which will last till highschool I guarantee lol. Money well spent. Hunting season is coming on Brantley is showing more interest.
  20. We got our first heavy frost of season here. Both vehicles windshield froze so heavy frost.
  21. Go to Old Forge. They'll eat cookies right out of your hand. Buddy had photos of his daughter feeding a monster buck right out of the van door.
  22. Wow that crazy but if people really want it they'll pay. Yes this is fall ball waiting to see if they have indoor during winter. Waiting to see what the billing is like for travel team. Seen all the apparel sweatshirts personalized bat bags etc. They actually went through quite a bit of training and are also keeping it fun for kids. Coaches are great. Right now instructional is for 9-12. 9-10 are together training and 11-12. Definitely glad I signed him up for this. Seems like he is really enjoying it.
  23. We'll tryouts are all over for travel baseball team. Brantley did well fielding and batting, 30 yard dash. We should be hearing soon if he made the team. Seen lots of competition between the 2 tryout days. Today is the start up of instructional baseball. I paid $65 for 5 sessions which are every Sunday through end of October. They have special guests that come in and help kids work on what they need help with. One thing Brantley needs to work on is arm strength he's holding back. He's so small kids 9-10 u are bigger then him and he's 10. Coaches asked him how old he was and what grade he's in. He said 10 which he turned on 9/11 and 5 the grade. He's a lefty the coaches told him small but mighty. They liked his batting. Coach kept telling other coach look at his swing. This is all about development and I hope this helps out. I think it will be good for him.
