What do you guys do nowadays for work or what did you guys do after your service? I did multiple jobs till I was medically retired. Factory work, union roofer, bridge construction went for corrections but could fight a war but couldn't pass a psych test to watch a inmate lol.

Apple season is almost here my hunting season has already begun. The farmers almanac is calling for a brutally cold and snowy winter. Man what a messed up year with the weather we've had. I was talking to a buddy about our corn we planted in our gardens we should have planted rice with all the rain we've had.

Took a walk on the backside of my 5.7 acre property right on the Saranac river. Seems like fall is approaching quickly, seems like the beechnuts are dropping already. The main run way that runs through my property is being used regularly as they move through to my neighbors fields. Been seeing 8-15 deer out in field since may. Tomorrow putting out my camera. Anybody else noticing the beechnuts dropping already?

glittergoat , I see a triple stack there how did you get that. When I was in schools were very hard to come by. Even with a 300 pt test we were just a part of there equation for our deployment was made main priority. If you wanted to reenlist in the sandbox theyd give ya everything you wanted as long as you signed that line. But if they needed me I'm still rough and ready.

great pics guys. Who here misses the military I can say for myself I had a / still am having a hard time adapting to civilian life. Somethings they just don't understand.

Never tried that but I will look into it. I do Italian dressing and wild leeks and venison in a cast iron pan that good to when the Italian dressing cooks into a gravy that's good too.

REDNECK4LIFE32 replied to sethf11's topic in General Chit Chat
My hunting season starts tomorrow I have a buddy with a grape vineyard and the deer are destroying it so we have some nuisance tags fresh venison. Cant wait. Just hope they cooperate but cant beat the view overlooking lake champlain. Sit on the tailgate and wait. -
Very nice I love it up here was stationed at fort drum I love my mountains, BTW those pork butts look really good. I got some wild turkey breasts to put on the smoker use a special dry rub and inject twice with creole butter b4 and after smoking then let rest. funominal and always juicy

Ive done a lot of drives and still hunting in the mountains. Most of the places that are getting logged are mostly woodland property with all the leased camps from what I hear the Adirondacks are being taking over by moose . Hunters are seeing more moose then deer lol. Your black bear spot does sound nice and peaceful. I heard theirs good black bear hunting around old forge area.
