  1. Last night at 7pm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If I shot a buck in PA with a collar on, I would leave it on the mount I think Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. There are quite a few DEP lands in Putnam but most are very crowded as mentioned. Private land is tough to get access on in Putnam county at least for me. I'm 31 and I've hunted 3 private pieces. 2 of which can't be hunted anymore because of new housing built, etc. The 8 acre piece we hunt has produced over the last 20+ years. It borders hundreds of land hunted by a club and they probably push deer to us. They come in late, start moving by 9am, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. That downtrend sounds similar to "Lockwood" DEP land in Carmel. My Dad got several nice bucks out of there several years ago, but now it so popular with hunters and scent bombs everywhere, etc that you are lucky to see a spike. No AR there either.
  5. Nice ones. Now I remember those. Yea anything over 100" is good for our area. Those are the Kent dep lands with unique AR rules, etc right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Whatever makes you feel better. I'm sure I could buy a nice piece of property in NY where I could get a decent buck every year, but I just don't care that much about whitetails. Rather spend the $ on other non hunting related things and hunt for free each year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Oh so they go in live into the water? Makes sense. I just put a big chef knife through the head right before grilling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. He clearly stated it takes "access" to the right land to be successful. Up in your rifle country, put a buck within 400 yards of me and he's dead and I only shoot about 10 shots a year as practice. Many others would buckle. Like I've told you before, if I had access to a farm/food plot where deer came to feed, I would shoot a lot more bucks. I hunt typically 3-5 days during the shotgun season. I'll day Saturday's and 1/2 day Sunday's. My dad hunts the same spot as me but is retired so he hunts everyday and has 30+ bucks out of 3N, more than 1/2 were 3.5 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. How long grill after boiling? I only grilled and it was like 6-minutes only Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Awesome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Splitting and grilling is chewier but less flavor lost imo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yea I've posted several 3.5 year olds that my Dad has taken, but besides him and you I haven't seen much of anything else posted. I wouldn't say it's "easy" to get a mature buck every single year in 3N. By the way, can you send me the link to your posts of the 3 8 pointers? I looked back at your posts, but can't find them. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Cool. What kind of grass is that? Looks strange in some lics Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. BUMP. In addition to this plumbing job, any electricians out there? I got 2 landscape lights in my backyard that won't come on. 3 sets of 2 lights, 2 sets work, but 1 set of 2 lights won't come on. Its not the bulbs, not the breakers, etc. Maybe bad wiring?
  15. I'm sure not all parts of NY need a 3-4 year wait per hunter on bucks but down here (3N) it's very tough to find a mature buck. If I had to guess, I would bet less than 10 mature bucks were ever posted on this site out of 3N, maybe less than 5. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yup coffee in the morning, then beers and the pool all day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Draws is the answer. Many states you can't hunt a buck every single yet, let alone 2 bucks every single year. I'd be fine with hunting every 3-4 years if it meant better hunting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Damn, you still got me beat even by ratio: Grow: 53,007/10,333 = 5.13 Me: 21,050/5,204 =4.04
  19. Damn. I only got 21k. What's the views to posts ratio? On my phone and can't see how many posts u have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Cool views in cold apring Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Gotta get trail cams out soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. NY should have a draw, and everyone would appreciate their bucks more if they could only shoot a buck every 4-5 years Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
