Haha nice. I don't think he'd be interested as he sold a 30-06 a year or two ago Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nice. My dad has a really nice 6 with great mass. I'll have to take a pic of a pic someday. Similar to your fascination is mule deer hunters who want a giant 3 x 3. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was supposed to hunt with him this morning but I've been so swamped at work, so I slept in. I will probably see him tomorrow since him and my mom are going to dinner with friends tonight. Nice buck, only time my dad and killed bucks the same day was this year in Wyoming. Definitely a cool deal to get bucks the same day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

12/13: my Dad went out just for the morning today with the Xbow since it's his bday. He saw nothing, but ran into neighbor on way out who saw a 4pt before legal light. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

NJ is getting to be a big bear mecca! 700lbs on 12/8/14
BizCT replied to Mr VJP's topic in Bear Hunting
I would definitely be interested next year. Thanks! -
Another typical year for the most part. Jan and Feb were slow, I got back into shape. March was great with spring break and college tail in Miami. April was average at best, may - August was a typical slampig summer. The fall brought a little more weight on the slammies but faces stayed cute. Winter brought weight and weak ITG's. For those that don't know it's inner thigh gap. All in all, 7 brunettes, 3 blondes and 1 dying breed (a ginger) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When is the bear season in NJ? I would like to come park in your driveway and leave a few bucks under your doormat. -
Crazy. Several years ago, probably like 2004 or 2005, there was a Moose in Mahopac (Putnam County) where I grew up. It actually was in my parents backyard a few times. A kid I knew in the neighborhood shot it with a potato gun, luckily I don't think it harmed it. It was sedated and brought elsewhere.

IMO, it's only irresponsible because he didn't practice at that distance or know exactly where to aim. Had he done both and the conditions were right, no wind and deer standing still, there would be nothing wrong with a 60yd shot. It's done all the time successfully out west in open fields on deer, antelope, elk, etc. if I ever go to Wyoming with my xbow, I will make sure I can shoot out to at least 60 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Kludes do you tan the hides yourself or send them out?

Wow. I always thought it was residents only for some reason. Can I go and hunt public land? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I thought you had to be a NJ resident? If things changed, I will be there next year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I don't have time to read through complaints, nor do I care. Like I said, I'm not involved anymore, I just get my free energy each month. I don't know the plans off the top of my head was gas is involved, or other states involved, etc. My suggestion to any potential customer is to read the contract/terms in full detail. I only have gas and read the contract to mean that I would save at the minimum 1% on the energy supplier portion of my ConEd bills. It has been multiple years now and I have no complaints.

I understand if you can't say, but just curious how this began? Did you start tracking the deer based on the size of the track? Knowing that it would be a decent sized body buck?

Regarding consultants, you should do your due diligence before signing up. I did and knew what I needed to make my $ back. I lined everything up so the day I paid, I then signed everyone up and got all of my $ back shortly after. Regarding customers, I don't know anyone in NY who has had issues. Its a guaranteed savings plan and once a year I get my statement showing what I saved. It's not a lot, but its always more than 1% on the energy portion of my electric bills. Ambit continues to grow, so they must be doing something right. I have ConEd and when I go on their website, they show 20+ ESCO company options, 1 of them being Ambit. Maybe others are a better deal? I'm not sure. I just know Ambit saves me, my family/friends/co workers/etc. $ as compared to just using ConEd for everything.

Look man, some will succeed and some won't. This is a very old thread and no reason to continue to go back and forth debating. I completely understand your views.
-
Yes it's MLM. That's unfortunate for your friend. If he would have gotten 15 customers he could have had free energy each month. Just like amway and others, ambit will be around for a long time. Some people will make $, others won't. Sounds like your friend jumped in before having people lined up. That's a better approach so as soon as you join you have all the work done already and get all your bonuses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Comparing legal shooting time to driving the speed limit
BizCT replied to regulat0r's topic in General Hunting
For me, it works like this. I get to my spot 45-60minutes before legal shooting time. I sit down on the ground against a big tree or stone wall with my gun or xbow standing up next to me leaning against the tree or stone wall. Once my watch (which matches my phone) shows the legal shooting time, I grab my weapon and lay it across my lap and I am now hunting. When my watch/phone shows the end of legal light, I unload my weapon and stand it next to me. I typically stay seated for a while until completely dark just to see if anything comes out. I disagree with NY's hunting times, I wish it was like other states (PA, CT, etc.). But until they legally make the change, I will continue to obey NY's rules and not cheat/shoot out of season. I save every single rack of a NY buck I have ever shot, and I am proud to know that each one was shot 100% legally under NY rules. No baiting, on legal property, during the legal hours, etc. I wouldn't be proud of a deer that wasn't 100% legal. I am very confident that if I baited in my area (3N), that I could definitely draw bucks in and odds are I would never caught. Same goes for shooting before/after hours. But as I said, I would never be proud of that deer since I know I bent the rules/cheated, so I don't bother doing it. If baiting becomes legal, I would definitely try it. If the hours are extended, I would definitely hunt during them. -
Cool stuff and congrats on a great buck.

How is it a scam in NY? It is 100% free to be a customer and you are guaranteed to save 1% on your energy. I, along with everyone I know, get a statement once per year showing what I saved in comparison to ConEd providing the energy portion of my electric bill. It actually might be 2% guaranteed now, I haven't looked in a while.
