Governor Announces Support for Crossbows in NY
BizCT replied to Tinlodge's topic in CrossBow Hunting
What other guns? I don't keep any other guns at my house. Regardless, if I make a big enough mistake that results in my pistol permit being revoked, then I will have to worry about the consequences then. I'm not living my life walking on eggshells worrying about how/when my pistol permit might get revoked. -

Like I said before, I'm not happy about the safe act, it just doesn't affect me, so I don't lose any sleep over it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I have 1 pistol. If I do something bad enough to get my permit revoked then I don't think I should have it anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I have a westchester county pistol permit and we bought enough shotgun ammo years ago. Won't ever need to buy again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I hunt with shotguns, bolt action rifles, or a crossbow. I don't buy ammo. How does it affect me? I don't agree with the safe act, but it's not eating me alive that it was passed. I honestly, never think twice about it. I don't even know when it officially took effect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

+1 on the downtown area. It gets pretty seedy and strange late at night, but its a good time and the drinks are dirt cheap, and usually free concerts.

think if you are against xbow than throw away your compound and hunt traditional only. Same goes for your fancy rifles, trade em for flintlock if you feel so strongly about tradition or fairness or whatever. I agree 100% Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Vegas is amazing. I only go in the warmer months when the pools are open. But as far as non partying tips, red rock canyon is pretty cool. You can rent a car and drive there about 30 miles and hike on your own Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does anybody know or use Kurt Wall to clean their skulls? http://badtotheboneskullcleaning.com/ He lives in Pleasantville. I met him for the first time recently. He seemed like a super nice guy and we talked a bunch about hunting. I dropped off my Lynx skull to have his beetles clean it up for me. Instead of boiling the skull and loses a little bit of size (like what happened with my Bobcat), I decided to go with this approach for my Lynx and I wanted to try somebody local. I've had skulls cleaned many years ago by beetles and they came out great. I'm looking forward to getting my Lynx skull back in a few months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My first answer was not a weatherby, it was ".243". Then the .257 wby mag popped into my head later on. I never bought a weatherby in my life and probably never will. Regarding being bias: Xbows = Excalibur Recurve Deer hunting shotgun = Browning Small game shotgun = Charles Daly Scopes for anything = Leupold

You can bash my weatherby's all you want, but considering my grandfather (deceased) and my Dad bought or traded for all of them in the 1960's and 1970's for a fraction of what they cost and/or worth now, it turned out to be a great bang for the buck. These same guns still shoot amazing 40-50 years later and have killed a lot of game over the years. Regarding ammo, we are still using handloads from many years ago and will never have to buy ammo in our lifetimes considering how infrequent we shoot them. The last rifle weatherby my family bought was in 1993 and that gun was sold on this site for over $2K. There's still a .300 wby mag we would part ways with. You want it? http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/9704-2-weatherby-rifles-for-sale/page-2?hl=+weatherby
