Is this a riddle/trick question? Did they find the deer? Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

If it were legal, I would shoot you with a weatherby magnum, of course. 270, 7MM, or 300? Your choice. I would do it offhand from 666 yards. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

Clarification: talked to my Dad again when I got out of work. He watched it for less than 1 min, not 10. I was wondering why he couldn't get a shot. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

While I was at work (and still at work), my Dad hunted dark-dark and saw the big boy. He saw nothing all day until 3pm, when he saw this guy with his head to the ground running around like a maniac, like he was chasing a doe, but my Dad never saw the doe. My dad first spotted him at about 125 yards watched him for about 10 minutes running weird routes with his head practically on the ground. The closest he got at 1 point was around 100 yards, but he was constantly moving and in thick stuff. My Dad didn't want to risk the shot and hoped he would stop in an opening, but he never did. He said he is definitely a 7 and possibly an 8, the 8th point on the right side is borderline of being a legal point or not. He said the deer's body is very big compared to what we often see in our area. My Dad is supposed to hunt dutchess county with a friend tomorrow and friday looks like bad weather, so maybe I WILL SEE HIM SATURDAY?

Non-hunting landowners probably feel more comfortable with state workers doing the killing on their propertly as opposed to strangers like us roaming their property.
-
I said if it was legal. Ever see the movie, "The Purge"?
-
Just closing out this thread. Never went back to CT to hunt after 10/19. The landowner continued to cut down trees in the woods for firewood and always had a bunch of equipment in the woods near the only huntable areas. This has to be a big reason why my trail cams went from tons of deer to nothing but dogs and people, and I started seeing nothing. Part of me says this was a waste of $500 for the year, but I had my chance opening day and missed a nice buck and then passed up a 3pointer 5 days later, that I wish I had shot now. Still never killed a deer with my xbow. I won't be paying for access to this property next year.

You posted the whole fox killer t shirt out of nowhere. Like I said before anyone can kill a deer, but a fox is much tougher to kill. If everyone on the site hunted fox, we wouldn't see as much success as we do for deer. If its legal who cares. I would shoot you and put your head on the wall, if it was legal. That's your choice. But there's no reason to bash people who do only hunt for trophies/displays, as long as its legal. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

Do you want me to check up on your house and shoot that problematic 10pt? Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

Take this fox lovers! Someday I'll get a red and if its a nice pelt I will get it mounted! Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

Here's a 3.5 according to dec. 7pt no brows my Dad got in 2011. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

He's probably already 2.5. Not many deer ever have brow points in our area. My Dad has shot several 6's and 8's barely over 100" that were 3.5 according to DEC at butcher. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

While I was at work, my Dad hunted dark to dark and saw no deer. But just like the other day at 6am he had a buck cross in front of his truck a few houses away from where he parks. It was a 4pt and stood there looking at him. Same spot as the 8pt the other day. My dad said it looked just like this 4pt. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

I dont get it? What's wrong with hunting fox? Any schmuck can go out and shoot a deer. A fox is much tougher to hunt than a deer. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

Girls and Guys cannot be friends. I don't care what anybody says. They are only friends until 1 of them tries to _____ the other one.

Judging by the log, the temp, and time, I have a pretty good idea where this buck beds. I will going after him Saturday morning! just kidding....Good Luck, he's a beauty!

Sounds like a great deal. Thanks in advance, for sending me info.

Definitely smaller down there, and much thinner coats. My Dad shot this nice 8 point (just under 130") in Texas in the 90's (100% fair chase). The hair is like a NY whitetail's after getting a crew/buzz cut!
-
Really cool unique buck. Did you hunt with an outfitter? If so, do you mind saying who? I'd love to go to Texas and get a short-haired buck, but I've had a hard time finding a place that is 100% fair-chase, no fences.

But I'm saying that I don't think they own many farms or equipment, etc. On the topic of hunting celebrities, not sure anyone tops Duck Dynasty.
-
I honestly don't think they own all the equipment, land, etc. I actually remember reading on another forum (maybe bowsite) about a year ago or so about people who live near them and had the real inside scoop. They didnt own barely anything except that $200K house they show on TV. Like I said, I think they get a ton of stuff for free, get paid for endorsements & appearances, etc. I'm not saying $300K is fair pay for them, they probably make the Outdoor Channel and sponsors a ton of money. I just don't think that their actual cash cut is more than $300K per year. Of course, they exceed $300K when you throw in all the free stuff, etc. I'm just talking actual cash. I could be way off, but it's just my opinion until someone can prove to me otherwise. Aren't tax records open to the public? Can somebody get their hands on their 2012 tax return? I will guess $287K combined for 2012.
