  1. Season opens on 11/19 on LI. I've come close to arrowing one here, a couple times over the years. But mostly see them when season is closed. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  2. Two gobblers came by. Sneaky buggers. Closest was at 15 yds when I first saw it. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  3. Hmm? What equipment does one use to handle a porcupine? Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  4. Judging from yesterday's post, I should have warned you that the first couple days were going to suck and the bruising will darken. Just from my own experience with injuries. You should be over the hump soon and on the mend. Hang in there. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  5. I rarely rifle hunt, but have taken 4 deer with the 243 and had no problem with recovery on 3. The 4th was poor shot placement on my part, but deer was recovered. All shots were within 75 yds. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  6. Just me and my shadow. Set up on the scrape from last night. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  7. OMG Cynthia! You are having a rough go of it this year. This too will pass, but so sorry it happened. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  8. Understood. Somehow I managed to screw that up though, with near identical results to yours. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  9. My guess would be that the arrow was not seated on the rest. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  10. Saw 1 smallish buck that never came close enough to count points, not that it matters much....would have probably gotten a pass. Did not come to a grunt, but it made a scrape before leaving. I freshened the scrape on my way out. Only deer seen this PM. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  11. Working through that grid searched are was quite the work out for little Luna. Great to see her at work and doing her thing. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  12. My hang on is about 8 pounds, IIRC. I just had it out tonight in a 4 trunk twisted oak. All that was lacking was deer. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  13. Hang & hunt is more work than a climber IMHO, yes, but I pack both in my truck. Before the leaves fall, I prefer the hang on to take advantage of cover. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  14. My in season practice is generally 1 to 3 arrows before going out for a PM hunt. Mostly at about 22 yds from the back patio. Occasionally from the upstairs window. Decided to turn down the poundage again last weekend after I struggled to draw from the stand with cold muscles. Sucks getting old. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  15. Wowza! The outcome from both incidents could have been so much worse. Is there a gofundme page or something for this tracker. Tough situation to be in after trying to help a hunter recover game. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  16. Maybe get a light weight hang on and sticks if trees are not suitable for a climber and you want/need elevation. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  17. Do you have portable options besides a climber (e.g. hang on or saddle) or possible to improvise a brush blind? Those would be options if you find the right spot but no trees suitable for a climber. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  18. Happy Birthday! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  19. I'm back where I bumped a few deer last Sunday, but maybe 80 yds north of the tree I was in. Warmer and less wind than I would like Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  20. Someone just pulled out of a side street in front of me....never looked left, no reaction to me laying on the horn, or my screeching brakes to avoid t-bone. Completely oblivious. SMH. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  21. Boogered 2 deer on my walk out. Don't like educating that many deer. Good thing deer aren't elephants, maybe by next weekend they'll forget. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  22. Spike came in. I thought it was a doe. Fortunately not a clear shot so I held for a while hoping for it to clear. Then saw the spikes. Got a pass. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  23. Bumped a fawn on my way in around 3 pm and got busted by a doe around 5 pm. Giving it another 30 minutes. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  24. Spike got a pass. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  25. Good luck Chef! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
