27 inch, about 385 grain, 400s, with 100 grain broadheads @ 13% foc pushed with 60 pounds. Or same with 125 grain bh making them about 410 grain and 16% foc. Weights are approx as I am converting grams to grains on a postal scale. Or 5575 gold tip which are close to the same as the 400s. They impact about the same, but haven't paper tuned the 5575 yet. Unless I go old school and break out the 2016 xx75s, which at this point is unlikely. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

That may be the problem.... poor sleep, frustrating day at work, started the cigar and the coffee stout just as I started practice. Couldn't steady the pin worth a darn, worthless to fling more arrows. Only perfect practice makes perfect and today was not the day for that. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

No pics today. Dismal day of practice. Only loosed 5 arrows at estimated 32-33 yds. 1 spine, 1 elbow, 1 neck, 2 lung. Clearly not ready for 10/1. Wrote today off as an off day, best confined to the dustbin of history. I'm disgusted. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Anyone use the jet sled?

That photo is quite an endorsement of Jet Sled. I can only hope to have that (2 deer at the same time) problem. Ha. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk -

Good luck. That sounds like a good plan. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk -
Aah yes. The zen months of April & May, when folks drove well above the posted limits, but did so safely, courteously and without aggravation. Nice break from the otherwise depressing times. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Not so much on LI. The troopers have been doing brisk business on the Southern State 2 out of my last 3 trips. Saw 5 cars pulled over within a mile on 1 trip and 3 cars on the 2nd. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Maybe lengthen the rope add a better handle and reinforce where the rope attaches. That may void the warranty, but i don't think that'd matter. [emoji3] Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk -
I haven't had any issue with disloging the upper part of the API accidentally, in the years that i have used it withour the stabilizer straps, but could see how that could happen especially with a smaller stand like the mini. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Haven't tried the summit seat yet. It is bulky like the API, which I am used to , but sits lower, so I may look at the Hazmore. Thanks. I like the padded back on the API for lounging. But the API is like a penthouse suite compare to the the Summit. I don't have a padded back on my hang on so I expect I can live without it on the Summit. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

I am. Not something I want to do. I bought an X-stand that had similar blunt teeth that I tried once and could not return that stand to the store fast enough. I had to pay shipping, which was half the cost of the stand, but I could not in good conscience sell it to anyone as I regard it as unfit for use at any height. Just my opinion of course. I have 3rd hand straps on the API that I just purchased last month that will be transferred to the Summit...assuming the API will be semi-retired. You can just about see them at the base of the stand. If I like them I will buy another set. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

To the OP. Here are my initial opinion of the Viper Mini. Platform is about the same size as my hang on. The teeth are not pointed compared to my API. I am concerned that it might not bite as solidly as I'd like on hardwoods, but should be fine for pines. I reversed the carry strap from what the instructions said, and I will try it that way. If not working as I hope it is easy enough to change around. Not sure I like the carry straps anyway, so might change those. If the teeth don't bite like they should, I may grind them to more of a point. I'll try climbing a tree on the weekend and update if there is anything to update. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

I remember the deer taco posts from last year. There are commercial versions that sell for about $20, which I considered. I could/would then use a plank as a ramp to load into back of the vehicle. Based on the reviews I think the jet sled (the 54" long version) checks the desired boxes. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk -

We are approaching the seaon opener and I wondered what others have a guiding philosophy or motto that sums up their approach. For example, I've read some poters express "keep it simple", "if it ain't broke don't fix it", "safety first", "practice makes perfect", "shoot what you like, like what you shoot", "learn from your mistakes", etc., etc. One might hold many guiding principles, but that's not the question for this "assignment" you must choose just one that is your north star. Mine is "continuous improvement". What's yours? Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Thinking about getting a jet sled. I am half as strong as I was when I was half my age and struggle to load deer into either my lifted jeep or back of my full size pick up, even with the 100 pounders that I typically get here on LI. I get it done, but keep looking for easier ways. I have a hitch mounted carrier that I've hauled a few with instead of hauling them into the back of the truck and that works, but I get the "looks" from other motorists that I could do without. Also, cleaning out the bed even though the jeep is rhino lined and the truck has a rubber mat is kind of a PITA. So was thinking the sled might help with dragging, loading, concealing, help hold ice for those early season hunts, and help facilitate clean up. So, want some 1st hand reviews from jet sled users. Last thing I need is another thing taking up space in my shed if it won't make life easier. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

I just ordered a Summit mini Viper. I will let you know what I think about it when I try it out. Not getting rid of my API though. Me being an old, short, fat guy I am hoping the mini does not disappoint. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
