If there is a commercial flat roof jobsite around, you should be able to get a scrap of rubber roofing for free. Other option would be to rip some 2 by to create a slight slope and screw on some corrugated galvanized sheet. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Whole different perspective for me as I hunt public land on LI. I mostly hunt DEC land in October before the pheasant hunters, then shift to County land November & December. No way I would sit out the first 3 weeks of season, unless it rained non-stop or some other crazy thing happens. I haven't taken time off to hunt the opener in many years, but plan to this year. @chacha if you are concerned about getting lost, start with some of the smaller parcels that have clear boundaries. Print the maps from DEC if you hunt the larger spots. Those maps show hiking trails, which are pretty easy to find and orient to. Even if you get disoriented, you won't be far from a road. You might be surprised how close deer move relative to the parking spots. The biggest deer I've seen on Rocky Point was when I was in a treestand in sight of my truck. I don't typically find that I need GPS to hunt the spots I hunt, but I kind of know the lay of the land. I think Rocky point is best before pheasant season when you have to make reservations. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

What Grampy said, generally holds for me. I also shoot the bow during the season, sometimes only a single arrow before putting the bow in the truck to go hunt. Wish I had a better way to practice from elevation. Shooting out the upstairs window is better than nothing, but isn't the same as shooting fram a treestand. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
