  1. Acting on emotions is never a good way to establish a law. This is what has been happening in New York for several years now. This governor has ecellrated this effort.
  2. The search for the needle in the haystack. Shed some light on this subject.
  3. Take the blinders off Politicians are good at twisting wording and making it all seem rosey red. The Safe Act is meant to do one thing, put the firearms sellers out of business in New York. The politicians know it and won't let up until the agenda is complete.
  4. And transporting across state lines in 2024. Starting to see this show up on a few outlets. Anyone else seeing this or have information?
  5. Another great year for the family of deer hunters here. Taking the grand children out during bow season topped the list. They stayed still enough to gain success in seeing deer which really pumped up the young fellas drive. Some came in really close as we used new blind buildings as well as wind direction to pick our sit spots very carefully. Getting them more involved with their own binoculars and range finders will hopefully gain an advantage for next season. IT lifted my hunting experience to a higher level. The season couldn't have been any better. We hope to introduce them to the firearms season next, if ready.
  6. Doesn't make much sense, does it? Of course, we all know politicians rely on " experts" in their field. The problem is, they don't get out in the field.
  7. Yes, and from what I have read, the State Assembly has all the control in the matter.
  8. Deep fry in peanut oil, and it all taste good. Maybe try it with carp, LOL.
  9. I've tried several carp recipes from some of the best old time farm chefs in the business. I didn't care for the flavor. They tasted just like bottom feeders taste. I can verify however, that they do grow some outstanding truck crop veggies.
  10. If like to thank the administrator(s) for adding the 2024 onto the title of this thread. Your effort is appreciated by me, and I know by others on this site for all your efforts.
  11. Grams would probley have used a crock pot, but we're talking back in the 70's. How would they do in Insta Pot? Like par boil them.
  12. Couldn't close the deal tonight. The quest continues for a keeper buck. All in all, it was a great season. Can't wait to look for sheds.
  13. I ate rabbit years ago, like decades ago actually. My grandmother use to put it in a dutch over with herbs and garlic. She would set vegetables around it. As I recall, it was good. She also pan fried it sometimes. Does anyone have a good recipe that they would like to share? Thank you in advance.
  14. Congrats on that doe down. Crows, robins, cardinals, chickadees, and a big white owl out here this morning. Deer went invisible, as they do here when it turns white. Seems so strange hunting on New Years Day.
  15. A little drizzle and light Southeast breeze. Starting to ice coat exposed surfaces coming in. Nice encounter with a buck this morning that lost his antlers. Sorry, no pic. Some doe that wandered in. Happy New Year. One more Holiday hunt day to go.
  16. Perfect morning out in the open. A nice doe with three pretty small deer with her. I choose to pass. I have a feeling antlers are behind me, LOL
  17. Heavy drizzle mixed with snow. Northwest breeze blows a mist through the covered stand. Very wet out here. No deer yet, no shots around, but the fox are out.
  18. Well, what do you know, more showers for the Holiday hunt.
  19. I find that this time of the year, can go days without seeing deer. Then like magic, multiples show up. Yesterday afternoon sit was a good one here.
  20. Years back, wet pellets taught me a real lesson on a keeper in a freezing rain event. That's the breaks one takes muzzle loading hunting. It's not as fun telling the story, with the story not hanging on the wall.
  21. I unload on wet afternoons, like yesterday. Clean the barrel and gun, reloading for the next hunt on my way out. The money spent on a few sabots and powder don't warrant losing a shot at a keeper.
  22. Walked out under clear skies and a full moon and a little fog. Very bright . Fog got dense at day break. Like pea soup now. See what the afternoon brings
