  1. Well, I'll go out on a limb here and say that cat followed the Genesee river, up from Pennsylvania into the city. Remember a few years back, one came from Montana and ended up in Connecticut.
  2. Sometimes, the best value is in the bargain boxes. I took a liking to Imperial, years ago.
  3. Looks like 26- 27 season . No tag needed if reported within 48 hours. Not reported in that time frame, it's an illegal harvest. Thanks the update
  4. Political football that been kicking around for years. I don't believe she'll sign it without a certain amount of political leverage. Why go for the field goal, when a touch down is within reach.
  5. That system came out of Canada and crossed Lake Ontario. The sky looked threatening, here at 2:30. It was still 80 degrees out, which fueled it. Though someone was getting a pretty good storm. We missed it by about 20 miles to our northeast. I read where possible tornado in it. We had the high wind gusts from the outflow boundaries here in Niagara.
  6. This one will run $80 bucks plus tax at Walmart. They boast about an inch and a half insulation the sidewalls I wouldn't pay it.
  7. Only my opinion: I would think, anyone that is transporting ammo across state lines without a FFL back ground check, is breaking New York ammunition laws. Show me where I'm wrong
  8. Hope everything worked out in those flooded areas. I'm finally able to plow some garden area today
  9. We had 3 - 14 inch plows on the larger Allis tractor. It was a 4 plow tractor in most soil conditions, but not in Getsville clay. Pulled much harder. I always elected to take the Ford 2N with 2- 12" bottom Ferguson plow, my grandfather bought in 1948. Never stopping on the headlands, I could plow a whopping 3 1/2 acres a day. Pretty good considering the fields only averaged 4 acres in size between the hedge rows. That Tonawanda creek flood plain would grow some good crops, hit the right year.
  10. Worked to wet, that Getzville clay will turn into a parking lot.
  11. My mower gear ox oil changed itself out over winter. Eight years old, time for a new seal. Refilling with 85w 140 gear oil.
  12. Alor of farmers locally here have alfalfa down. Looks short for first cutting. Going in the bunk.
  13. It's just like a breath of fresh air.
  14. Decided to build and replace some of my old bottom boards with this heavy duty version.
  15. Swarms are in search of a new home. With no hive to defend, their less likely to sting.
  16. Looked out my front window, the sky was full of bees . Used the chain saw to settle them onto the same tree limb the other swarm lit days ago on. Twos a charm.
  17. I've never seen them in the grass, like this before Always find them in areas of brush and along hedge rows. They also bed in heavy clover in my hay fields.
  18. I wish I would have grafted some of the old time apple trees like Spies ,Cortland, Greenings, Baldwin, and Red Delicious onto these new fangled trees, they call apples, now adays. Apples have lost their flavor, for the most part. I don't enjoy eating local grown ones. I also think, they have priced themselves way out of the market. I know costs are way up, but when does an item get to be not worth the money to purchase?
  19. I believe the same. I also think the food sources are more plentiful during a good rain, out in the open. Especially in open areas on sod where worms and grubs come to the surface. A smorgasbord of good eating. In late July through September, the turkey walk my second cutting hay fields in search of grasshoppers which are plentiful.
  20. I seen a big buck in my yard, last evening. He doesn't seem to mind it.
  21. Not to rain on anyone's parade; Past generation farmers use to say, if you see one rat, you have ten.
  22. Bees have settled in. Carrying pollen into their new home, this morning.
