  1. One other thing to note, he was in the same area, I found his sheds at.
  2. Rain stopped temperatures falling, and the bucks moved just after sunrise . I passed on the 7 pointer, I found the sheds from at the beginning of this thread. I know, a lot of you would have shot but, I would have to buy another freezer. Another smaller buck came out right behind him. Nice to see this late in the game.
  3. It always surprises me how many nice bucks make it through firearms season. Good luck with him.
  4. Good luck to those that are going out with a bow or muzzleloader. Be safe, wear orange, and enjoy the rest of the season. Some of the best deer are still stopping at a woods or a field near you.
  5. Feels more like October out here, rather then December. It's like 53 degrees. Light Southeast breeze with brightening skies. Really quiet out except for a few distant geese honking. Peacefully.
  6. Keep in mind, I'm value minded. With that being said; be a cold day in hell I'd ever pay $32 for a pair of socks, not matter what they do. My Dryshod boots seem to do the trick. Keeping my feet from sweating helps. Nice video though, and thanks for posting.
  7. I usually just leave it plain. This year I found some value minded pork half loin to mix in. I had it years ago and liked it so, why not
  8. Who's ready for it. I always take advantage of the whole season. Never harvested a buck; maybe this will be the year .
  9. Deer exiting food sources. Nice in counter yesterday.
  10. Our first inch snowfall of the season. What is it, like 103 days till Spring?
  11. If you check my original post, I said tossed one off. We have had deer lose antlers after harvest in shed fashion, for one reason or another. Also have found antlers with pieces of skull attach. Good luck in your search for the other side.
  12. Visibility has lowered in the last hour out here. The woods not as foggy as the open areas. Bit of drizzle thrown into the mix besides.
  13. I had to look on the guide book to get information, as we just don't see bear in our area that often. I did see this about cubs though.
  14. Still in search of that 180. May have to settle for a 165 though.
  15. Rain quit for a short time, deer moved . Rain started again deer went into cover. End of story.
  16. Your entitled to your opinion. I strongly disagree with it, however.
  17. It's a little wet in this area but, not to cold. Bucks are showing up again This guy already tossed one off.
  18. What other forum? Until the above post, I didn't even know the name of the other. Great bunch of folks on here, that's all that counts. That means a lot to me.
  19. The hunting community are the only ones that can bring the younger generation into the sport. We take our grandchildren out in bow season, so they can have more human- deer interaction in nicer weather. A little safer season. Starting them slow, and working up into the firearm season, as they mature. Thanks to those that have taught and taken youth afield, so the hunting tradition can continue.
  20. Means more venison in our freezer. It sure taste good this year with the price of meat going through the roof.
  21. Heart shot deer don't bleed much. They also don't go far
