  1. I see the difference now in the bars. This is to cover the early antlerless season in part of Region 8 and 9. Somewhat confusing.
  2. I carried this over from a question raised on Live From The Woods 23- 24 thread. This is what the 2023- 24 Hunting Guide Shows. When was this adopted?
  3. Sitting on about 15 acres of forage. Out at 6 pm. Young and old alike. Sure nice to be out for another season!
  4. Have made brush blinds in the past. They work great with scent control and play the wind. Have a large number of ash to come down which will support more. Just itching to saw down as they are covered in poison ivy.
  5. A great morning under cloudy skies with a temp of 60 degrees. A ton of movement. Deer, fox, coyote, turkey, rabbit, squirrel, and a rooster pheasant. First one in three years. He crowed in the distance. All antlerless deer with smaller fawns. Doing some reading, I see where our area are in antler restrictions now. When did that sneak in? Makes not difference to us as we have always practice that. I personally don't see the need for a law on it though.
  6. Started a new Live From The Woods 2023- 2024. Maybe Eddie can move these new post over for us and pin.
  7. This late in the game, I planted wheat first covering with about an inch of soil. Spread your brassica seed on top, then roll. The tender brassica plants will give you browse into firearm season; then the wheat should give you a fine late muzzleloader season. All fluid on the weather, of coarse.
  8. Who has it for sale? Will it require a back ground check?
  9. Little ways up the road , but is it worth the trip?
  10. Why would they want to limit the age to 60 and older? Implement the purchase of a Crossbow tag, for all.
  11. and already dropping. How is it around your neck of the woods?lol
  12. These pics are from an area that lay fallow for a few years. Planted to wheat last fall. Deer ate the wheat, ( even the straw, which I couldn't believe). Frost seeded to Red Clover, Trefoil, Grass mix in April.
  13. I'm quite sure these are mixed with the Quince Apple that were grown back in the late 40's- 50's.,very tart. Deer still enjoy them. When I use to sell on the North Tonawanda market back in the 70's, a fella use to bring Quince cider, very tart tasting.
  14. Nice to see some apple posts. Ours wild apple trees are doing really well, considering less than one inch rainfall in M ay and June.
  15. Nice to see we're back in the groove here. A good debate makes for a good forum.
  16. Are the ads the funding to keep this forum operating? You make the call.
