  1. Quote, " He isn't going to build or do anything with it.."
  2. 320 K sounds like a lot of money for 60 acres. Maybe if theirs road frontage for lots. Anyways , let's talk numbers: Federal and State income tax 33 percent, 106 K; Real Estate Sales Company, 4 percent, 13K; Lawyer 3 K. Up to 122K already gone. Minus other expenses. 190K left. Where are they going to live? Doubt if that is enough for even a small ranch home. If the place is paid for. Where are they going to live for what they pay in taxes on that property? Knowhere ! Use that and just maybe some common sense might just kick in. Good luck.
  3. Very windy and mild temps this morning. Deer moved early here.
  4. Welcome to today's world. Most of us are rational people and wouldn't think of taking it to this extreme. Their are some, as you are finding out that will. Running a business is a difficult task.
  5. Clear as a bell with frost on the pumpkin this morning. Kind of a deer jump start.
  6. Bumped this one out of a bedding area where I found the sheds, beginning of this topic.
  7. Good to see them involved in hunting. Hope they stay with it. Oh, and good luck with the teenagers.
  8. We've had tough bucks over the years. Some older, some not. It depends what they eat. Grind into burger, add pork loin . It all goes in the same place, anyhow.
  9. Already has happen here. And yes, I've seen fawns here in April.
  10. When that youth hunter is ready, it will happen. Good luck in your hunting season.
  11. First deer on the left. I didn't have my field binos the afternoon this pic was taken. What do you think, buck or antlered doe?
  12. Any time the state gives me permission to get out there and hunt, I'm gone. Been sitting in dense fog the last two mornings, without knowing deer were out. Evenings cool off nicely around seven o'clock.
  13. Just throw a little human scent their way. That'll mov'em.
  14. Has the Department of Ag. and Markets even done a informational survey yet on the "Purple Paint Law?
  15. Nice . This showed up past weekend while out shed- deer hunting.
  16. We have several ways to support a deer. Show a couple. Any one of them could be used depending on weather conditions.
  17. I find the toughest job of deer processing is separating the silver skin from the meat. Some is tough, others not so much. Depends on the age of the animal. I do not like it and is very time consuming getting it all off. Any secrets I've missed?
  18. Found the other side to the one found on Saturday. Great morning to be out. Seem to be in shed hunting mode.
  19. I like your idea of the receiver hoist as processing can be done anywhere the vehicle is placed.
  20. It was very strange deer hunting in September. It was like, " should I be out here with a weapon right now?" I had to pinch myself to see if it was real. This can't be the New York I know. I can see why some choose not to hunt this early season. Great to be in a free society to be able to choose.
  21. I see the difference now in the bars. This is to cover the early antlerless season in part of Region 8 and 9. Somewhat confusing.
  22. I carried this over from a question raised on Live From The Woods 23- 24 thread. This is what the 2023- 24 Hunting Guide Shows. When was this adopted?
