  1. What ya got under the car cover in the back
  2. I can also guarantee that money generated from fines will go to munincipalities and not to dec or the state.
  3. I do remember mailing in my paper tag. I am not old yet though. I started hunting deer in early 90s. when you still had to be 16. I learned to hunt by going coon hunting with my father alot younger than that, about 8 years old. At 10 I went with father on sits on thanksgiving, mom on opening day, and at 14 hunted small game with my dad including squirrels, grouse, running rabbits and Turkey hunting. I was taught if your gonna kill it use it. I do not turkey hunt anymore cause i think wild turkey is terrible no mater how you cook it. I remember the neighborhood gathering at the community hall next to my house to hunt and drive deer opening day and going over and hanging out with them as a kid. My father always went and did his own thing on his own. I am greatful to have grown up in a time when people could do and hunt as they wanted and not get criticized as they do today. Everyone enjoyed hunting and did it for more than big racks. As far as tradirion, what i remember, what would antler restrictions in ny have to do with that?
  4. Who is gonna pay for the time with these check stations? Taxes are high enough. More officers, overtime for them, gas, coffee, ect. Not feasibly imo. Most people poaching are broke so good luck getting blood from a stone. You gonna lock em up and cost more tax dollars?. We dont need more laws in the land of the free that can not be enforced. This country already has a deficit it cannot afford. With ars i would like a wall hanger every year but does not happen. And as the season gets closer to the end my expectations decline. If ars were ever implemented you can put me on a watch list cause a man can only follow so many b.s. laws before he says whatever.
  5. Seen more deer this year than the last few. Wounded a dandy with bow and did not recover, that sucked. Got access to new property while hunting when i ran in to the owner on the property line, over 300 acres. Took 2 bucks and 2 momma does. Also had a buck given to me. Spent time with father and friends. Great season for me.
  6. Keep drill bit lubed with oil and slow speed. High speed creates heat which dulls bits. And when starts to get dull take to grinder and resharpen. Also start with a smaller bit and work your way up to the size of the hole. Good luck and be patient.
  7. Still hunted again this afternoon. From noon till dark on land I recently got permission to hunt. Seen 5 deer. 1 all alone decent size, another one, tiny, and a momma with 2 small ones. Had a shot at momma and lone bigger one. They were all flat tops and not what i was after today. I got tomorrow to hunt and then my hunting season is over. After 1rst of year will start all over again, moving stands, scouting for what made it through the season and finding access to more land.
  8. And a little luck. I would also add those deer in a canned hunt probably live pretty good, not having to deal with predators and starvation. I would imagine alot of time and money put into taking care of the herd
  9. Wasnt that in Binghamton area
  10. Still hunted all day yesterday. Saw 7 deer total. Around 430 shot a momma. Got home and hung her up around 830. Gotta skin her this am then goingback out. Snow coved ground and quiet walking.
  11. I have never done it however if i could afford it i probably would. Not only would you get to see quality deer but the accommodations would be great too i would think.
  12. Why would you drag a deer with a loaded firearm. And i do understand what your saying about accidents happening.
  13. I planted a princess peach tree i bought at lowes that was about 5ft tall 4 years ago. I have trimmed it and it is about 15 ft. Tall now and just as wide. I have also takin pits from those peaches and grew more trees. I now have 12 new trees planted since i began with them being about 2 ft. To 4ft. I read the new ones will produce in about 7 years. The peaches are small and sweet. Wildlife like them and they make great cobbler.
  14. The beer in my hand in the pic is for after the kill. When i shoot a deer i always have a celebratory beer.
  15. As you keep posting i am learning 1 thing, you sir are the bigot, close minded and unexcepting of others beliefs that are not yours. Perhaps you should go back to college and demand a refund cause you got shafted. Merry christmas to you too
  16. How come a white christian man that is against islamic muslims that want to bring there ideology to the us is a bigot, but a islamist who hates christians that is proud of his/her beliefs isnt. If your a proud american with a make america great again bumber sticker on your truck you must be racist is the mindset. If that is the case call me what you will. I dont want more uncontrolled chaos in this country, i am pround to be a backwoods billybob redneck as you put it, and i drink bad cheap beer.
  17. 1 more day in jersey then 5 hour drive home. Work tomorrow then 3 days with smoke pole Cold some snow and most people wont be out. Sounds good to me.
  18. The method is the same. Putting food down for convenience to harvest deer. In my opinion. Really only difference is plots can only be put in on private land. However some states plant and leave plots on state land for deer along with "baiting" being legal for financial gain of the state. I would think that is more of an even playing field for all hunters. And being realistic we do not hunt for the betterment of deer but rather for our own personal reasons. We are all sportsman and sometimes others ways even when we dont agree does not make them wrong.
  19. How many times does a guy go into the woods to fill his feeder? The deer wont pattern him? How much time does a guy spend finding a location deer travel to dump a pile of corn. If the guy feeds bags of corn to all year long to the deer is he also helping the deer herd? And as i said food plots are different than "baiting" cause those who have them call it something different. I have been to western states such as ohio that allow it and i can tell you it works the same. Deer still see you, smell you and hear you. They still pattern you and look at you as a predator. And will also take as much time and money to make it successful.
  20. The solution to these situations are not to allow more people with these ideologies into this country and unfortunately for sympathetic people you are unable to know the difference between who is and is not meaning harm so the answer you have to give is no. Extremists will not say i want to kill americans publicly. It is a war against ideology. The only way to win is give them what they want, death.
  21. I agree food plots and baiting are same thing. I have hunted on farm land and old apple orchards. Deer sightings are more. Food plots are a form of baiting. You can put a plot in with expensive eqipment or a hoe. Now you can also spend alot of time and money on corn and spreader over a period of time or just get a bag dump it and hope it works. All do the same thing, a deer has gotta eat just like us. The only real difference in my opinion is if you put in plots youll tend to justify and call it something else. I dont have an issue with either to be honest. None have effected the outcomes of my hunting success, but maybe i feel hunting is more than harvesting.
  22. I would tell myself fewer beers, lift with legs, and do more cardio. Being big and strong doesnt help joints and back with older age. Oh and wife will get use to hunting season, she'll stop nagging and enjoy you going as much as you do.
  23. A little late to party but doe i shot on i blew out lungs and heart. Only thing that was recognized was half of lung, the rest was jello. Found alot of white hair then blood. Blood trail disappeared after 20 yards. She went maybe 100 yards before falling. I used 270 with winchester 150 grain whitetails. Here is pic. Can see hair with blood.
