I think if the new bill passes to change the 500'rule for bow/crossbow, bows could be very effevtive especially if does are mandated to be shot before a buck would be allowed, can't tell you how many shots i pass on doe everyyear waiting for a good buck to come by. Most bowhunters i know do the same. I'd get my 5 doe in a hurry to have a chance at a 15pt or larger buck (according to article). jmo

Maybe bleached a little, without seeing the nest hard to say for sure but if no ponds,geese,ducks around i would say turkey. though their egggs are usually spekeled ..Our season is usually the end of breeding and most hens are sitting by may 1-14th. if nests are destroyed the hens will renest several times if nessary. Thats the main reason the dec won't even think of moving out season up into april at all the birds are a lot more responsive to calling now.

Not to early for turkey eggs most breeding happens in april clutch when done would be 12-15 laying an egg a day would of been a setting nest by may, most likely turkey in brushy or wooded/grassy area, possible goose if near a wet area

Nice !! most breeding occurs in april which is why our season starts in may.. looks like they were on a road or driveway hope a car doesn't get them...

Yep, i always take a kid if i can find one..they keep getting older and my nephews arn't old enough yet. Just brought this up as a few guys at work keep complainig about the adult shoting the bird. I said well if you know they are doing it (hunting without a kid report them..)

I said if they had the scraps in their mouth in reference to the article (to prove that whatever they were the deer would eat them) or standing among them (again referencing the article) again read the context. A pile of corn/ apples are know bait for deer, scraps can be anything(can't jump to conclusions of what they are not enough information) thats why the article is legal not enough information for charges against.(no picture of deer eating or around scraps,more than one camera,ect)

How many hunters will be taking out some youth for the spring youth weekend? I hear a lot of complaints that hunters just go out themselves eary and shoot a bird(illegally) should they stop the youth hunt as its the father's shooting the bird not the kid?? What are your thought's??

I find it amazing all the old deer that were never measured and are found hanging in bars,garages,barns the b&c club has been around for years...everyone must of had a reason for not getting it scored at the time. and others brought it to light years later...same will probably happen with this..

As for your example of the tickets issued corn and apples are food for deer!!! deer do not need to be present they will eat them!! The Article stated scraps no mention of what they were, so with no futrher information nothing illegal. you keep saying blk n wht but do not read what was written, drawing your own inferences/conclusions of what they are. As for asking a dec officer i am friends with quite a few as they have trapped and tagged turkeys here, and the deer must eat or be know to eat the bait used!! Again showing them the artice they found nothing wrong with what was written, nothing was stated about what they were,(as one said it may have been left over seafood). An inverstgation can be launched if you wish though.....

I do agree if entered the burden is properly placed on the hunter for proof of fair chase and being real. fact is he didn't enter it...

ITs just funny all the other scams had someone blow them in yet rompola has 3 measures 2 concervation officers vouching for them,heck i bet they could sell the truth to a hunting mag and make some cash if it was a hoax. LIke i said i don't know but i bet when he dies and others controll the mount the truth will come out. As for the bur thing the pedicles may be tipped out, it maybe a one in a million. Taking a measurement and computing the bur distance is a lot different than actually measuring it...dont believe me try the program buckscore and take a picture of a known scored mount and measure it. it takes a bit of practice to get the technique right so the score will come out the same and this is using cutting edge tech 2010 not 1998..you all know how fast electronics are made obsolete.

I get lots of bears, no bait, and i have a lot more tracks behind my camera than in front! why are you upset this guy enters contests?? i entered and won a nice treestand from stealth cam a fews years ago.. I think you are obsessed with thinking everyone is doing it illegally. i have over 10 cameras set over 1 squaremile but i get the most in natural funnels on 2-3 cams and over 7 different "trophy buck" at 1 scrape does that mean i am doing something illegal??. And ATTRACTS THEM TO FEED means they feed (eat or drink) simple english 101... again reading comprehension. the key word "to"(meaning an action)if it was just attract to try to feed, yes every scent would be illegal. yes if the deer eat soil that has juice in it or minerals it is baiting. And the amount of juice to pe poured on the ground to make them eat it would be quite a lot. 1 oz will not do it. And spraying cider in the air they wont feed again not illegal.

Hey i'd like to see it done as well but its his right not to for what ever his reasons are..maybe he just hate attention and feels this was the best way to aviod it. But I have seen what is out there and the evidence is pretty clear he killed a heck of a deer. Because he doesn't Have it tested doesn't mean its a fake.

Watch the video of the recovery..... I'm basing my opinion based on evertthing that is available to see.not a single pic of pedicals that are to far apart compared to other trophy animals. You forget this was measured just not panel scored. Yes it was friends of his and if you are a hunting finatic you would know measurers as well. The pedicals may be the thing that allowed this deer to be the trophy it is... it may be fake but to do that and create a video of recovery pick up the head by the horns,measure it, have people come over and see it...the man must be a better illusionist than hudini ever thought of being. This was shot before photoshop and to edit video back the would of required a lot of labwork in an extremly short time. And he would of had to do this all himself in the matter of a day....it isn't one picture that was photoshpoped ....and how would you buy silence from everone who had seen it? Someone would come to the $ table and tell their story of how they helped fake it..but no one has .. the only thing not done is panel scoring(which includes xray of skull plate).

Did it feed on the gut pile? Almost the same as a deer putting its nose on a camera..again did it feed on it? The law states attract to cause feeeding...so no. Pur apple juice on the ground or spray cider in the air...it will attract deer but can they feed... no.

Most record book bucks look freakishly unnatural james jordan buck,rath buck,hole in the horn,ect. I can say they are all unnatural in size,mass,point legnth,number of points. Everybuck is different .... like I said if its a fake it look a lot or extreme work from sewing the horns into a fresh kill placing it into the woods without disturbing leaves, making a blood trail, taking it to get it weighed, allowing it to be measured(although by friends) the only thing he did is not let it be panel scored...why? This is the only thing that gets people jumpinig to conclusions about the spread,pedical distance,ect. Instead of saying wow what a great world record contender...wish he would get it panel scored. How many old deer heads that are in the top 20 in the books hung on walls never measured for years even though b&c had been around for years this will probably be another find in 50 years some distant relitive will bring it back to light... The only thing I can say for sure is he doesn't seem to want it panel scored why.... its his deer and none of my buisness why.its not like he running around saying I shot the largest buck in the world.. he said here's a buck I shot people got jealous and he removed the buck from view...

not to get off the subject of deer,but i asked the dec why there is not a 2 bird fall limit on turkeys statewide specfically wny, their response was that they sell a lot of turkey tags... so of course i asked how many actually hunt fall turkey as archery season is open for deer,duck season was open, ect... their response was we have no idea.. if they can't even tell how many fall turkey hunters are out there (i bet a lot less than deer hunters) they don't stand a chance of getting any numbers right for the take of any game!!!
