No, i would agree i woiuld look for a solid or some kind of bonded bullet and limit your range, tough to track without an exit wound especially if hunting from a treestand!!

they are to buzy fighting amonst themselves to watch what their supose to.. Almost as bad as the politicians fighting for their piece of the pie for re-election campain funds instead of doing their jobs!

I woud run the solar panel trickle charger to a deep cycle 12 volt batt. and then run off the battery you will get the ability for a much longer draw from the deep cycle batt vs a car battery. My friend uses this setup at his cabin (no electric otherwise) he can run his 12v lights and fan off the battery all day and night,and the trickle charger is hooked up to the battery at all times and has a cut out when charged. not sure of the make of the solar charger with cut out but i can ask..

Arrow your statement of guns in bow season is lame and childish, bows and crossbows are legal and are archery equipment, a firearm is not. You have a belief but you make yourself look childish with such statements. Last i heard crossbows are legal(albit reg season and late bow/muzzleloader) so that statement is moot. they are drawn although not held by hand(although i don't know many finger shooters) seems most bow hunters are using somekind of mechanical release today!(i remember the big fight to allow them to be used over 3 finger gloves and shooting tabs) so with 80% let off i guess thats cheating as well... As for tradition the crossbow has been around for over a thousand years! the argument about how far they can shoot is a half truth, longbows/compounds can shoot much farther. a bolt is short and they loose energy much faster than an arrow. So finially the opinion of a few to rule the many is as about an unamerican as one can get(if you want to speak of traditions) If crossbow is included in early season(as a lot on this forum seem to feel it should be) its not the end of bow hunting as we know it...its another change like everything else in this world changes, if we want it to or not.

Kind of slow on the site so i found some fox den pics from last year. This den is 50 yards from my house and has been used for 2 years haven't seen any activity yet this year though. There were 9 kits last year but i could only get 5 on cam at once ...they wouldn't stay still. enjoy!

I've had bad luck with jhp bullets in my 44 mag. not exiting the deer. no exit wound shot from tree stand, tough tracking job. I'd look into a soild point maybe.. jmo..

I'd stick with a 200g bullet weight, i use a 45-70gov. lot slower velocity but about the same knockdown power i get with 350g for deer its deadly never had to track yet!

Morning and evening hunts at that time of year, but a lot of bucks are still in bachelor groups then ...find a good one and you might have the most bucks walk by your stand you'll ever see!

Use to use george's bait farm in marilla,ny(not sure if he retired) was very helpful with stocking rates,fish types and the truth about grasscarp(usually stocked at way to high a rate)if needed at all! good info from dec web site on local hatcherys that are certified. talk to the hatcher operator and if hey don't have time to talk to youdon't have time for them! must of spent 4-5 hrs on phone with george before i bought all my fish,crayfish,minnows from him. And don't forget your free pond stocking permit from dec!!!
