Have you tried the new stuff that is out ? I can only speak from what I own and I got one jacket that says blended wool I think it is mixed with some type of polyester and that thing is ridiculously warm for the thickness of it and weight . I'm pretty sure I got it at Cabela's it's about 2 years old . As far as getting wet that I can't say . Yes tried brenneke ko slugs . No problems . And Some bird shot no problems . I did not bother trying the sluggers again tho Anyway I talked to them they again ask if they would install the new fire pin and spring for me because I did not want to take apart a new gun that I dont have any experience with they said know problem .they will put a new pin and spring for me if I want . I said I rather not send it back for them to change until after hunting season is over . They said fine by them not a problem. Ask about turn around time they said that's a easy fix usally can be done in the same day they get it . They have good support at least got back to me right away . I got no complaints . The gun it self is very solidly built locks up tight. You would think it would cost more then it does really .

Yea you are probably right but the gun companys know that if they can show even a little better performance out of a bullet . People will want to buy it . It's all about what will sell and getting you to buy new stuff from them , Same with every other product . If they dont show some improvement there Is less motivation for people to buy a new rifle or any product if they already have one .

I was up there Saturday came back Sunday no real time so I decided to just bring my light weight single shot really spent more time walking then hunting just scouting around its thick up there where I was at anyway no way you would get clean shot farther then 50 60 yards in that area especially since the leaves were still on the trees . Want to go back when there is snow .

Its way developed to have better long range ballistics then the .223 and 7.62×39 With about the same recoil So yea I would say would work ok on deer

It's a double edged sword it can help make you stay in the woods longer but it can distract u from seeing a deer .
