I am fine with that my suspicion is that if one goes to a doctor he talks to fish and game or writes a note that you are legitimately messed up in someway they will give you a free pass to use a crossbow. They just want to stop scammers from taking advantage of the law who just want a better way to hunt. I could be wrong .

I think that's about right while it's definitely easier then a recurve . You still have to practice with it to get good groups . But my crossbow not at all same range once sited in i could give one to anyone and they would more then likely out shot the compound bow easily . That being said I don't mind if they make the crossbow season a little longer especially after gun season would be nice

Arrows can be shot out of airgums and ever normal guns just to let you know its,not even a new idea so can I use my gun with a arrow in it in archery not fair it can shoot a arrow to . You need separate seasons for different weapons . No need for any of this fighting

Read back i explained this already it all depends on what kind of hunting experience you want. And I also said if you are physically not able to hunt with a vertical bow you can get a doctor's note to use a crossbow. I notice i see the words What I want a Lot here in this topic. It's not about you or me it's about what is fair for all sides. That's why you need different seasons for different weapons I don't get what the problem is . May as well let muzzle loaders and any single shot rifles in archery season to then and have a free for all lol

You make some good points but you need balance different season works fine by me and Will satisfy the most hunters Btw if you get full inclusion there is good chance they will shorten the bow season just to compensate for the added deer pressure all the more reason the recurve guys don't like the idea .

The time this exactly happen may not be exact the shooter was the one to call 911 and he tried to save her by putting pressure to the wound . The guy still is a idiot probably not a killer at least from what I read if it accurate

So if a guy hunts state land he should not care about all the bordering property's that poach and bait the crap out of there posted land changing deer habits so the poor guy who hunts that state land has next to no chance to see anything . You talk to a game officer they will tell you most the poaching is going on behind those posted signs just to let you no . So obvously some guys may objected to the idea of having a longer season for a silent weapons platform like a crossbow with a lot more range then a bow . That people can exploit . I think having different seasons is fair way to go about it .

Hmm I always worry about hunting gun sesson on state land because of trigger happy idiots like this funny thing is seems like most of them are happening on private land and even worse people that know each other .

I think it's called air Venturi air Bolt works in any 25 cal and up Pcp air gun and you can get them to go even faster then 500 fps just to let you know . Maybe I should not be advertising that fact because there goes bye to all the crossbow guys they will be getting one as soon as they legilze them .Lol

Acually you right it's a different brand that shoots at 500 plus feet per second . The airbow is old technology too I guess And it can shot 45 cal bullets to. Even better your crossbow is old technology. Not accurate enough and it is not as safe as this thing is .

All depends on what you want out of a hunting experience. Some guys like the challenge of recurve others don't care will use the best most effective weapon they can . Not saying it is bad or good here just pointing out difference . If it turns out not enough crossbow guys are making a big difference of deer take to effect gun season I really could care less . But I see both sides of it just saying there's always going to be this rivalry between the 2 acually 3 sides recurve guys some don't like compound bows either think it's to much of a advantage. Let alone crossbow

At 50 plus yards a lot of difference you probably doubling the effective range of your average bow shooter .

Crossbow scopes can be much more powerful then that and using a bipod or benchrest makes even small 50 yard groups easy even with a cheep crossbow . You will out shoot any bow guy Every time with one . It is what it is .only advantage bows have over crossbows is weight and they are less awkward to move around as you're walking in the woods . But how long will that last I am sure they are working on that too . Ok guys, I'm in. Lol

Probably because they had some lawyers and experts from the bow manufacturing industry's testify to the legislature on the advantages and differences between crossbows and regular bows I'm assuming . So legally that was the only way they could pass that law .
