Just wondering wolc if you were in charge of the deer season how long would you make gun season ? And all the other seasons what would you change ? For some reason I have the feeling you would make deer season 360 days a year .

Maybe I should duck tape my shotgun with bird shot to my deer rifle this way no matter what comes out I'm ready for it if it is in season lol

Seen 20 turkey cross that very trail at about that spot last day of deer season last year . Only reason I bothered to try there . That happens a lot when i am deer hunting i only see turkey or squirrels and rabbits when I am turkey hunting i only see deer . Always the game you just not hunting that day seems to alway show up It is like they know .

I did not see or hear any turkey but jumped a deer . Weather was awesome!! perfect nice and cool not to many bugs out this morning.

For what it's worth The guy been on some really cool hunting trips and knows a lot of famous hunters like him or not his opinion is listen to by millions of people .

I'm only going to say one more thing if you just limit the feet per second of what you are going to use in archery it don't matter if the arrow is being launched by a airbow or a crossbow . If your going to put the crossbow in archery anyway may as well have that to and be done with it .

Compound bow has to be held with the same technique as a recurve only difference is it let's you hold more weight easier. The technique used to hold a crossbow is the same as a rifle and shoots a bolt the same as the airbow . So why not just let it in put a limit on feet per second and stop playing around with the word play of its definition.

I used this stuff called cutter insect repellent seemed like it worked wasn't getting bit but the basterds went for my face I have head net someplace but forget where I put it . So those portable gadgets really work good . Got to try that thanks

Sorry but at the point when you wanted something that you can hold and shoot like a rifle but that shoots broadheads into that season you opened the path to Shitty gun that shoots arrows instead of bullets Airbow arrowrifle crossbow arrowgun and any such device that propels a arrow instead of a bullet . Is fair game and will be seriously taken into consideration to be allowed into that season . Crossman marketers and lawyers, a NY state company btw knows this and is already planning for the future. From a hunting and lawmaker point of view only thing that really matters is the power that these weapons can produce. You can make a shitty arrow gun no more powerful then a bow . Just limit the feet per second and let the engineers get as creative as they want on the design of there joe rogan shitty gun . The original intent of archery season is lost , not enough guys care anymore so it will evolve and has already we went from a simple stick and arrow to high tech materials triggers cams cables pulleys and so on . . Now you may want to draw the line at crossbows but the next generation may have different thoughts just like the generation previous had negative thoughts about compound bows . Ok give me one good reason that a airbow shouldn't be allowed in crossbow season if they both have the same exact power . I'm ok with crossbows now in the season don't see any logical reason why keep the airbow or crossbow that can be made very narrow then the limit they have now out if the power is kept to about the same level as a crossbow , What the hell is the difference, If your not going to shoot a recurve bow or compound anyway.

I have had that happen when I was leaving the stand I just had lowered my bow down first with a rope bow on the ground I'm still in the tree and 2 doe run out of the bushes and stop right under my stand and start looking up for a second I was tempted to jump on top of them as the stand was only 13 feet off the ground lol I think those basterds where beded down no more then 100 yards away from me and only got up when they heard the noise of me about to climb off the tree. They were practically standing on top of my bow .

Why not just legalize rocks or the bola . now that would be impressive .

Look I don't want a augment because it always gets ugly when this topic comes up I noticed . And you already convinced me there is know harm in crossbow being in archery from what you ,and other guys have shown with data from other states it really did not change much how many deer have been taken in the archery season anyway it still limits the hunters ability compared to a rifle . Is a crossbow really a archery ? See the problem with all your arguments is you will not find in 3000 plus years that crossbow been around not one book or ancient text about how to use a bow and arrow that shows crossbows in it . Because there operation is totally different. Bow and arrow is just harder to use . The fact that they use the same power mechanism is meaningless. Crossbows are really the first generation of rifles before they figured out how to use gunpowder . Like joe rogan says" a crossbow is just a shitty gun ." And a airbow is in that same category. But safer to us so why not let that in to and just put a upper limit on fps . Why have dumb limbs width restriction when a narrow crossbow is much more safer to handle in the woods . Why have the same restriction on recurve crossbows as cam driven crossbows when they work differently . The only logical restriction if you are going To have one is limit the feet per second. When they discovered gunpowder. They quickly got rid of the bow string part and replaced the power mechanism with black powerder. And all armys stopped using them . That being said it's still a primitive weapons that limits your hunting ability. Just not as much as a bow . But looks like it's not enough of a difference statistically to make a big difference in the deer take of archery . So I don't care if it's used if it's not going to make a difference in the deer I see . During rifle season especially, which i and most hunters probably like the most to hunt in .

Last time I did spring Turkey I pulled a big ass tick out of me . But I'm going to give it another go this year . Hope it stays cold those basterds really start moving as the temperatures rise
