Culver Creek and Bubba, Thanks for all the information, I have the encore hand gun, and a encore pro hunter rifle. I will just leave them as they are. I will go to my county clerks office and get the 243 barrel added to my permit

I have a Ithaca model 72 saddle gun lever action 22 mag. I bought it back in the 60's, mine is not for sale. I did see one at a gun show, so they are still available.

In 8-Y I can legally hunt with a hand gun as long as it has a 15" barrel, I had some roto cuff problems in my right shoulder, that is the reason I bought it so I could hunt that year. I will check into the barrel registration, I purchased a 243 barrel for it two years ago the original was a 270-Win, and when the barrel came in I picked it up and the dealer did not do any paper work, or state that I had to register it on my permit. I did not think that a certified dealer would release a barrel if had to be registered?

Thanks guy's that's what I thought but I wanted to get a second opinion. I put this together and had it on the bench last summer, it seem to perform well at 100 yds.

Can anyone tell me if I put a rifle butt stock on my T/C hand gun with a 15" barrel, does it still qualify as a hand gun or is it classified as a rifle with a short barrel?

Yes we are going this will be the 15th year in a row, we are going on Friday the 10th and stay overnight, and then back home on Saturday night.
