  1. And I would have thought chupacabras would have been first response.
  2. Buddy of mine shot a doe last night ... last light. Waited an hour, tracked it 60 yds to a huge puddle of blood but no deer . This morning they tracked spots of blood to a buried carcass . Entire chest cavity and rear quarters devoured. He sat down wind watching over the carcass for 3 hours. Nothing showed . He said the carcass was more than 100 yds from the big blood puddle. It had to be a bear. Nothing I know in NY drags off an entire deer and burries it
  3. This was a big anniversary/ Christmas year for us. We don't usually spend that much. She has a pretty new anniversary band ... ring what ever they call it and a hunting blind and I have the new winchester 101 sporting clays o/u. The budget is blown for sure!
  4. Yes nailed to one side . It's up on 4x4 skis. Going to be put on 4x4 plastic pallets
  5. They are in Wellsville ny i think that's Cattaraugus County. Facebook marketplace. As they are amish you have to go through an intermediary person. Made it a pain . Drove 100 miles one way to look at it and leave a deposit. When I didn't hear from them I drove back over to check on it they were a month late . Had to drive back over and pick it up .
  6. Windows have plexiglass. Floor is one inch oak planks .Door has key locks . Cost was 700.. They deliver for $1.00 /mile. Wife says she wants it painted like her muddy girl rifle .... I pray she is kidding. Im thinking stain and seal .
  7. I appreciate the offer the trailer its on is 6x10. Not sure if would have been better off unless it was a true deck over with wider axles. Deck was ok .. axles might have been 5 foot .
  8. I dont have any inside pics. I will try to get some this week. After trailing it 100 miles I just wanted it off the trailer safe. Was a bit top heavey and trailer was narrow but it was the only flat bed trailer I had available. Camo paint is up to the wife . Its big enough for 4 people and 2 shooters. I could sleep in it. I don't think I could elevate it with out heavey equipment. To damn big.
  9. We went and looked at a simple 4 x 6 shoot house . She wanted the octagon. I was ok with a smaller .She wanted the 7x7. What momma wants momma gets .
  10. Wifes new hunting shack finally done . Only a month late but its done . Had to park it at my uncles place as it's to wet to get it up on my property now. Hopefully when it freezes I can get it back on the trailer and up the hill. Heavey cuss. Probably 800 lbs . Amish made .
  11. BIL is a salesman at a ford dealer . He specializes in commercial fleet and upfits . He also sells light trucks and cars when he can . They were real short in new vehicles do to covod shutdowns and parts from overseas. Very little new to sell translate few used to sell. Good used vehicles are at a premium. He actually told me to hold onto my truck another year as there was no good deals to be made.
  12. My wife works in a hospital lab and do to age she will be getting it. I will be getting it as soon as available to me . Love the fact zar cuomo and his comrades in congress are trying to back peddle their stance on the vaccine. Just goes to prove their hypocrisy. This will play out as cannon fodder in 2 years . Vote for the seniors murdered in nursing homes. Vote for the small businesses destroyed with their polatics.
  13. Oh ok ... I was thinking a sub model .. the only problem is left handed firearms are limited run could be a year or more
  14. I'm not recoil shy but the only complaint I have found on the winchester is its a thumper after shooting a couple rounds . Is that your experience ?
  15. Anybody have experience with a winchester 101 ?
  16. Wife heard me talking about a used browning over under I had fondled at lgs. On our anniversary she surprised me with a used browning o/u. She thought she had gotten the right one as it was the only one in the shop . Unfortunately it was a fixed choke skeet /skeet. A beautiful gun but not the one I wanted . After explaining the difference she insisted we take it back and order the one I want brand new . Lgs refunded the money but said the gun I wanted was unavailable. So now I'm on the prowl for for a sporting clays model 12 guage. We looked at a winchester 101 sporting. Love the way the gun fit . No palm swell and neutral cast . Screw in chokes. Perfect for a lefty . .2 times the cost of the used browning she bought. I walked out without buying it told her I would look for a different gun at a more reasonable price . I was thinking about a CZ but they all have cast and palm swell and only make one model in left handed. I hate to spend alot of money on a sporting clays gun I might only shoot 12 times a year ... Wife is really pestering me to make a decision as it's now a annaversary /Christmas gift . What do you guys think ? Any recommendations?
  17. Wow that's as bad as chucky and Nancy Russia collusion theory all you need is shifty shiff and Hillary to tie it together
  18. I can't stand bug music .... but it was a shame and a loss to many. For that I can sympathize.
  19. Where is the totals so far ... not sure if my lil doe got counted for team 4.
  20. I make the pizzells in my family. Vanilla, anise, amaretto, and chocolate. I use an electric iron now but I still have my grandparent's irons stored away. My niece was pretty upset when I let the family know we wouldn't be having Christmas Eve family party . She called and asked if she can come pick up her pizzeles. I told her she needed to come learn how to make her own . My great grandmother use to make Cuccidati. I never knew what they were called . She died when I was very young but I remember the cookies.
  21. A group of us hunted state land today . Carried a very nice blr in 308 . Some deer tracks from yesterday in the snow .. more people tracks . I kept getting walked on by people so I stalked into a big ravine. Climed up the other side found a finger of brush. Pointed my nose into the wind and still hunted a bench for 200 yds. Stopped to scan and picked up movement in a blow down 60 yards away . Looked with binos and could see 2 deer bedded. Snuck to 40 yds and I could see horns . Shouldered my rifle as they stood up . I could see it was a doe and a small 6. Let them walk as I was not interested in dragging them acrossed the ravine back up the hill probably a mile. Great day for a walk. 3 inches of snow . Just to many people around .
