Lawdwaz
Well done via the QT method! I did it via the bigger boom method earlier this week. I'll see if I can grab a pic......
Lawdwaz
My hunt kind of had a "family theme" if ya know what I mean. My Sako 22-250 with 50gr Nosler BT tracked this pair down......
oblivitar
very nice! I would love to use my 22-250 but theres too many houses near by. To be honest with ya i wasnt sure if my pellet rifle would take em out. I kept hearing they are tough little bastards. Gotta get em in the chest or head with that thing. Lawdwaz
They can be DARN tough to kill. I've cracked 'em in the melon with a .22LR and had them stumble around and craw back into their crib more than once. Tuesday evening I'm planning on stacking a few more?? We'll see. Cabin Fever
NICE!! Gotta thin them out, by any method!! I have them burrowing under my sheds at camp. Took one out last week with my .223. Planning on setting some traps this week!
BillJohnson
juicey fruit gum. they cant resist it and it binds their intestines up and kills them like a non toxic poison. 30 sticks of unwrapped juicey fruit around your shed will rid you of them. Uncle Nicky
They can be DARN tough to kill. True, I cracked one last night with a .22 mag, the only part of him showing was his head. I aimed between his eyes, after the shot he went back under my shed. Thankfully he came back out and tried to make a run for his hole, but only got a couple feet before he flopped over, I would have thought a brain shot would be DRT. Chevy
Gotta love the "surrender flag"(tail wag) after you put one down with a good shot. They were thick around my house this year for some reason. got 9 so far with .22lr. If you don't control the number they start to do damage and try to burrow under the deck and in the window wells. plinker331
I never knew about the tail wag/surrender flag but one kill today did that and one kill on my last outting a month or so did that too. Here is a pic of the 3 I popped today. Savage M40 22 Hornet single shot. BSA 6-24x40 using factory PRVI 45gr Kills were right to left 150yds, 200yds & 100yds 3 shots, 3 chucks that is how I rolled today.
Single_shot
When I was a young and off from school in the summers,I would find a hole near a stone wall and lay down with my 20g Ithaca FL parallel to the wall only about 5ft from the hole. When they would stick up the head, off it would come. It was quite thrilling at the time.
apertureguy
I'm usually good for a couple of these a year in the back yard digging under my shed too. Got what should be the last one very recently with the crossman air rifle.
