nybuckboy
How much per acre is a typical hunting lease in upstate NY. Anyone know?
WNYBuckHunter
It all depends on the area and how many acres are included. Also, if its just for hunting season or the whole year, if you are allowed to plant food plots, etc etc. In other words, there are alot of variables. nybuckboy
Central NY near Utica and yes a few small food plots. The land is CRP and has not been farmed in 20 years, just bush hogged very 3 years. 210 acres mostly CRP, some scrub brush and about 40 acres hardwoods. jmelite
I have 3 different leases around the Cortland area, and also have many friends with a variety of leases. My 3 leases are all 50-75 acres and I pay $10 per acre for year around use. Talking to friends this seems to be the norm around here. 2 of my leases are from timber companies and include insurance and the third is from a private farmer. Hope this helps! First-light
I don't. I had interest in a 50 acre parcel in Burdett N.Y. that he kept me up-to-date about but I never leased. He was really nice and straight forward kind of guy. I own my own property now so I haven't talked to him in a while.
